TL;DR: The game has a few minor issues, but the core gameplay is great and the 2-bodies mechanic really rewards players who can use it well. Devs really seem to care about the game, and I couldn't recommend the game more if you like tactical shooters.

I usually pass on tactical shooters like Valorant and CS, but this one has captured me.
The 2-bodies "gimmick" is a lot of fun, and really adds to both the strategy and skill ceiling of the game. I think people are largely dismissing it because it's different, or they don't fully understand the possibilities. It's seriously a game-changer between players who can effectively use the mechanic and those who can't.
The abilities in the game are much much less swingy than in other games. There's no ults, and you absolutely aren't going to win a game just because you have good abilities. It complements the gunplay, but doesn't overshadow it.
The servers had some issues in the early days, but recently my queues have been nearly instant many times, and only a minute or two tops at the longest. Developers acted really fast and deployed hotfixes for the major issue very quickly, which is awesome to see and builds confidence that they know what they are doing and care about the health of the game.
They have disconnected the concept of character appearance and ability loadout, which to me is awesome because it allows you to customize your character so you always look the way you want, but can still play the style you want. In many other games, I like the loadout of one character, but I don't like the way they look, so I feel a bit awkward playing them. It's a minor thing, but cool nonetheless.
Some of the maps feel a bit one-sided, or a bit too open. But those are easy content changes to make, so I expect many updates to maps and balance going forward.
Seriously, this game is great and I think a really welcome addition to the shooter space.

Minor negatives:
- Gunplay feels a little laggy at times. Many times where I clearly shoot first on my screen, but the hit doesn't register and I die. This is pretty normal across most games, but I seem to notice it a bit more in this game.
- Cosmetics are expensive, but on par with expected from other games. They are still a bit too high for my taste, but they are in other games also, so this is more of a neutral.
- There may still be some lingering server issues. Every 4-5 games or so, there is a disconnect either on my team or the enemy team. There's not really a way to tell if this is a rage-quit situation, or they are disconnecting, and I haven't had any connection issues since they fixed stuff.

Almost all of the recent negative reviews are due to server issues at launch, and not the actual quality of the game. This game will be, and maybe already is, the premier ARPG experience of the modern gaming era.

TL;DR: If you are a new or old player of ARPGs, you should play this game. There's a slight lack of super-end-game content, but still way more than enough to have a great experience.

If you are a new player to the genre, this game has many modern quality of life features that make the game so easy to hop into. It's very forgiving at the beginning, and gives you so much room to experiment and find what you like, with very little cost to change it if you don't like it and want to try something else.

If you are a veteran ARPG player who loves the depth of games like Diablo 2 and Grim Dawn, think Diablo 3 and 4 are too shallow, and think that POE is too bloated these days, then this game is what you have been looking for. This game has so much depth of character customization, with all of the bells and whistles of modern game design smoothness. The variety of builds that can function into the end game is impressive.

The only negative that I can say about the game right now is that there is a bit of a lack of end-game content. It lacks that "ultimate goal" like a big pinnacle or uber boss that you really have to push and maximize your character to beat. Even so, it still has far more interesting and challenging end game content than Diablo 4, and I would much rather have a game where the gameplay is super fun and engaging as a base. Adding content is easy, making a fun game with bad gameplay is not.

Is it perfect? Of course not. It has bugs here and there, but so does every game on the market. They will be fixed over time, and even the ones that do exist very rarely detract from the experience in any meaningful way, and are more just like "oh, that probably wasn't supposed to work that way. Oh well"

Play this game. Seriously. You won't regret it.

This game was made largely by only 3 developers, and it plays and feels like a game made by a huge team. Absolutely impressive work. They have been listening very closely to feedback from the various betas and demos over the past year, and putting a lot of effort into making this game something that caters both to a hardcore speedrunning audience, as well as more easy-going players who just like to shoot monsters and blow things up!

The visuals are fantastic, with lots of options in the menu to disable/enable stuff for better visibility.
The movement is nuanced enough to have a high skill ceiling for a lot of great competition, but is also simple enough that it doesn't take finger-gymnastics to play.
There are a lot of levels, even just in Early Access, and they are varied enough to feel unique and not get stale.

If you are a fan of any of these:
- Doom-style games with lots of gore and explosions
- Very (VERY) competitive speedrunning games such as Trackmania
- Fast pace action shooter games

...I couldn't recommend another game higher than this one.
