Played it around a year ago, never played it before and still was well worth it even after such a long time. It is a classic and well deserves that title. Because of this I nominate it for the "test of time" award as it stands the test of time very well and is a worthy experience even today after so many years. This was the first game come to mind when thinking about nominees for this award and didn't bother to think any further as it was obvious it is the best choice for that title... at least for me anyway.

Not sure why but this seems to be ignored by most XCOM fans, although it is a quite good and fairly modern version of the originals. Of course now that the new 3D remake is available this may seem obsolete and it still suffers from a few bugs, but if you are in the mood it still can be fun to play through at least once. The game plays well, the visuals are nothing special but look good still and the gameplay (both the combat and the base management) is fluid and flawless.

I had a lot of fun playing this game although I do not take it much seriously (if any at all) but of course I votekick those who just ruin the game or do not play as intended but never had issues if someone or even the entire team has low skill level as I do not play for win, just play to have fun so even when we lost but everyone tried was satisfactory for me. I haven't played it since quite some time and I heard the playerbase now is horrible, unforgiving and ruthless so consider this when you plan to play it and if you can gather a group of friends to play with instead of going alone or with just one friend. I mostly played public games alone back then and had only a slight amount of issues with trolls and tryhards so it was okay at that time but things have changed a lot (to the worse) according to my sources so if that is a concern to you be prepared or just play another game.

The second iteration of the classic with advanced visuals and slightly changed gameplay. Just as the original CS, the Source version also has a lot of player generated content and mods which make this game an infinite source of fun, no wonder it is still actively played by a lot of people. May you be the competitive type or just play for fun, CS:S has a lot to offer to you. Highly recommended!

I don't think much has to be said about TF2. If you haven't played it, you should! It's f2p after all so you have nothing to lose. Besides, no one can resist the most hyped hat simulator ever existed! ;)

Looked like a fun game that I've originally started playing to unlock the TF2 helmet :P but played it much beyond that. The general concept is fun but unfortunately it is too grindy, progression is tooo SSSLLLLOOOOOWWWW and the maps are all the same just randomly chosen from a pool of existing map elements / stages so is quite repetitive and doesn't offer that much outside of these, at least for my taste. Of course if you are into such things then it can be perfect for you but as I prefer more adventure and story content and less grinding and repetitive gameplay, I can not recommend it. As it is free to play you may give it a go and have fun with it until you become bored of it, maybe it is your type of game afterall... and even if not you can just move along after having your fun... and TF2 helmet. ;)

Countless hours of fun tactical gameplay coupled with the quite uncommon replay feature to relive great battles again when in the mood or to perfect your skills. The game is well balanced, looks and feels great and plays well. Funfact that a lot of player generated content is available, extending this already excellent game even more. The only downside is that the remaining player base is generally unforgiving and overly serious, have zero tolerance for errors and mistakes, but if you can find a bunch of friends to play with who are not tryhard then it can be a lot of fun, so in such case I highly recommend it, but otherwise be cautious as you may be put off by the uneasy playerbase.

WARNING: The multiplayer is discontinued but may be available through third party service, check before you buy!

The classic. If you haven't played it yet give it a go (oh the pun) and don't let the lack of ShineyGrafix™ disappoint you. I have both the later Source and currently latest GO versions but still come back to the original version from time to time because it is still fun and its classic style is still completely fine... and a lot of people who still play CS regularly shares my view.

Great concept, horrible devs, play it while you can, but never spend on it.

A rich, fun, unique steampunk world, promising turn based combat with great unit variation and wide range of choices, quite well balanced also; ruined by greedy developers who lie to their loyal fanbise, do not update the game for a year and when questioned about it they state a patch will come out soon just so another half year later there still be no patch or any upgrade (not that it wasn't blatantly obvious they just came up with the whole thing in the first place) and abandone this gem of a game to develop another game in the middle of the development / upgrade process of this one, for that other generic MMORTS they believed will bring in money (which also failed), leaving existing paying customers without any updates, yet still selling premium currency and promoting premium currency sales to scam the unaware and take their money when they do not intend to update the game anymore and focus on the new game which also fails due to their broken business model, incompetent marketing, failure to listen to player feedback, lack of updates and implementing needed features and the list goes on.

But what can we expect from devs who give you a bunch of christmas packs, 80% of which can only be opened with premium currency?! Unfortunatley by now even the not too large player base dissipated into a tiny fraction of its former size (only a few dosen people play the game, mostly new players as the majority of veterans left long ago) due to people became fed up with the treatment they got from the devs and the disappointment the lack of updates generated. Even new players realize what's going on (lack of players, lack of updates and a bunch of issues) after a few weeks of play, which is quite sad. Unfortunately the few who still play it has not much to do as the content is years old, repetitive and boring by now, including PvP itself.

It is also unfortunate that the dev team is falling apart (unsurprisingly), which means as this game relies on the server for even the singleplayer aspect, once they pull the plug all game progress and even the singleplayer will be lost, forever, even for paying customers. If you take my advice you won't waste money on this game, yet you play it as long as it is available to see and experience this nice game which could have been much, much more.

Yet another promising game becomes a shipwreck due to incompetent, greedy developers.™

An unjustifiably forgotten skill based multiplayer game in the HL2 setting, what else would one need to have fun?! Some more players to pwn perhaps. :P
