Great concept, horrible devs, play it while you can, but never spend on it.

A rich, fun, unique steampunk world, promising turn based combat with great unit variation and wide range of choices, quite well balanced also; ruined by greedy developers who lie to their loyal fanbise, do not update the game for a year and when questioned about it they state a patch will come out soon just so another half year later there still be no patch or any upgrade (not that it wasn't blatantly obvious they just came up with the whole thing in the first place) and abandone this gem of a game to develop another game in the middle of the development / upgrade process of this one, for that other generic MMORTS they believed will bring in money (which also failed), leaving existing paying customers without any updates, yet still selling premium currency and promoting premium currency sales to scam the unaware and take their money when they do not intend to update the game anymore and focus on the new game which also fails due to their broken business model, incompetent marketing, failure to listen to player feedback, lack of updates and implementing needed features and the list goes on.

But what can we expect from devs who give you a bunch of christmas packs, 80% of which can only be opened with premium currency?! Unfortunatley by now even the not too large player base dissipated into a tiny fraction of its former size (only a few dosen people play the game, mostly new players as the majority of veterans left long ago) due to people became fed up with the treatment they got from the devs and the disappointment the lack of updates generated. Even new players realize what's going on (lack of players, lack of updates and a bunch of issues) after a few weeks of play, which is quite sad. Unfortunately the few who still play it has not much to do as the content is years old, repetitive and boring by now, including PvP itself.

It is also unfortunate that the dev team is falling apart (unsurprisingly), which means as this game relies on the server for even the singleplayer aspect, once they pull the plug all game progress and even the singleplayer will be lost, forever, even for paying customers. If you take my advice you won't waste money on this game, yet you play it as long as it is available to see and experience this nice game which could have been much, much more.

Yet another promising game becomes a shipwreck due to incompetent, greedy developers.™

They've also killed off MOW recently. Yet another game shipwrecked by them that deserved better.

Glad for your feedback captain, good to see such a greedy, scammy, lying, disgusting company fail, they can go cleaning the streets to earn money once they are out of their current job. :tgrin:

Their March of War going this way already. Extremely good analysis.

I'd just like to give thanks for this review. I couldn't find a complete account of why the game closed down elsewhere.

ca va faire comme age of empire online, il vont fermer les serveurs et le jeu n'existera plus alors que c'etait sympa d'y jouer mais que le pay to win etait trop présent

The real sad thing is if isotx was not filled with a bunch of greedy people they would offer the iron grip universe for sale just as I have suggested back then and if the players were not a bunch of blind sheeple they would join my suggestion and demand better treatment for IGM and we could go for a kickstarter and save IGM.

But nobody listened therefore the greedy developers were not forced into such a solution or at least could consider it as a serious solution but no the game was murdered instead. A real mess.

IGM could have been saved and that is the real sad part about it.

Sad to see the game go, and I really can't argue much against what you're saying. Love the game though.

And you blamed Gremmerz for stating the obvious truth and most people didn't believe.

This is what you've got, here's your patch, isotx and the community managers knew this all along and lied onto your faces... all the time!

But make no mistake they will fail with their other game too!

And all those who licked the dev and c.manager behinds now can cry and you got what u deserved. Unlike Gremmerz you never stood up for what you enjoyed you just supported the lies of the devs and got what u deserved for it, you can only blame yourselves for the fate of IGM. Only Gremmerz put up a fight from the entire playerbase. The rest of you are not even worthy of this game, you killed it just as the devs and c.managers did. You all can be proud of yourselves, you've been lead by the c.managers and you obeyed coz you are nothing else than sheeple. HA!

Rest in Peace IGM, you deserved better!

The devs' and c.managers' and sheeples' shame will always be remembered!

IGM is DEAD, it is official now!

"Iron Grip: Marauders will go off line on July 23rd 2014."

May you rest in peace IGM, you deserved a better fate and company / dev team than what you've got!
