Genuinely my favourite VR game but probably not worth it if you don't plan on modding unless there is a DLC pack that you really want to play as a rhythm game.

The base songs aren't terrible but not what I'd be wanting to spend dozens of hours playing/listing to. The single player campaign gets brutally difficult in ways that I find pointless. For example the current one i'm stuck on is to get no less than 32 combo but no more than 34 and honestly I'll never pass it because it's just not worth the effort.

There is a big modding community however that let you import hundreds of songs and that's where the fun is at.

It's an OK game but has an extremely unsatisfying end.

I usually like games that involve digging and find it relaxing to do while I've got the TV on in the background but something about this just didn't feel great even before I got to the end. Upgrades don't feel great.

Definitely avoid if you have RSI as all of the shovels but the last two you have to click each time you dig, no hold to dig.

I do think it's a solid game. Bullet heaven where you drive around killing robots inside what defiantly isn't called the thunder dome for legally distinct reasons.

Once I got the hang of the mechanics I found the game play loop quite enjoyable. I recommend reading the achievement lists as you can use them to become more powerful for subsequent runs.

I recommend saying "Dammit Sean!" or words to that effect whenever you run into a tree as I suspect your anger fuels him and may help further development.

I was hopeful seeing the zone event but this quickly devolves into such a micro-transaction hell that I can't find any enjoyment in it.

IMO best total war game so far. Fall of the samurai expansion is particularly fun.

I will likely update this review to recommended after further content has been released but for the moment my recommendation is to get the previous version, warhammer 2, instead.

The main features they have added for the story campaign make the game worse rather then better. I hope that they will be fixing the siege defense so that walls are a benefit to a defender instead of a hinderance. They either need to rework the entire chaos realm's thing or, at least once mortal empires is released, you can play on that mode and ignore it entirely (I hope).

Also, if you're computer struggled to run any of the previous versions be advised that this one has higher demands on your system so you may have problems.

Otherwise, it's more total war warhammer which is fine. The end of turns seems to run quicker as well but that may just be because there's so much less content for it to process for the moment and may change once all the factions and mortal empires map are out.

Play the old version on itch.io to see if you think it's worth the money.
I think it is.

The game started off OK. Story seemed interesting enough but I can't bring myself to finish it due mostly to the UI. The UI isn't great but it's manageable and not unexpected for this style of game. but about half way through there has been a couple of mini games where the controls are plain bad and the last one I was up to my mouse kept flicking to one side of the screen and I had to aggressively fight it to get it back where I needed. Not sure if this is a bug or feature but it killed my interest in the game.

This is almost a recommend, There is nothing majorly wrong with the game itself but I found the first one more enjoyable.

The first one has a much tighter map and story whilst on below zero I frequently felt like i had no idea what the game wanted and was just wandering back and forth with no apparent goal.

I also found the weather effects distinctly unenjoyable as all they mean is you have to stop what you're doing for 10 min and wait for it to go away.

Worst of all though is this one finishes with a sequel bait ending and no real sense of a conclusion.

I would suggest buying the original Subnautica if you haven't played that. If you have only if you are willing to accept that this is probably not going to live up to the experience of the first.

The people who made this clearly had something they wanted to say and they say it clearly.
Fantastic visual style. Good sound design and game play mechanics that are used to assist in the story telling.
My only negatives are that there aren't many different mechanics and it starts to feel samey very quickly. The checkpoints are so bad that i would feel depressed whenever I died. I can't decide if this is an oversite or genius.
