Having it on my wishlist for a while, I picked this game up on sale, as it was giving off Remnant from the Ashes vibes, but being a game with a nice alternative wild west setting which you don't see that often.
I regret it.
The graphics look alright, but the voice acting from the start is just not that good nor immersive, the animation for the cinematics wasn't that good and kinda gave off goofy vibes more than a serious tone that I was expecting. I genuinely couldn't tell if the game was trying to present itself as a serious one, or trying to poke fun at other similar games. Either way, playing through the game made it harder and harder to care about the story and the characters as it felt like it should have been better fleshed out, and longer, to be able to absorb that much lore or to connect to characters.

The melee combat was fun at first, a bit simple and clunky, but it got old really quickly as the only chance of you being able to hit anything was to be locked onto enemies and kinda teleport to them (kinda reminded me of the melee in old-school CoDs where your character would be dragged towards someone you're trying to knife). Also, there weren't that any new moves that made me go "wow that's actually cool I'm going to use that more often for fun", I just ended up using whatever would finish them off the quickest. The electricity-powered glove that you get just has a couple moves that makes you feel like MCU Thor, but with autism as the character never shuts up with snarky or "funny" comments after beating a mob of enemies etc. Quite disappointed as I was hoping the melee would be a bigger factor.
The gunplay was alright but also got kinda old eventually, as even with new weapons unlocked, never really gave me a wow factor. The upgrades helped with combat obviously but I wish they focused more on the on the weapons and maybe different upgrades than your typical rogue-like would have. The electricity upgrades were fun but after you get them you didn't really feel any difficulty in the game. The lock-on aim-assist was pretty annoying, but being able to cancel some of the enemies' attack by shooting a tiny quick-time circle was cool.

Enemy diversity wasn't the biggest but they did their job, and some of them gave you quite the challenge if you didn't eliminate them from the fight first.

Now, my biggest gripe is the fact that I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, eventually the story would become more interesting and perhaps even the gameplay might pick up, but nope. By the time I finished the campaign I couldn't even refund the game as it took about 10-12 hours to finish it. I played it first on the hardest difficulty and the only thing that did made it difficult were the buggy enemies and those sweet, sweet camera angles that would make you want to pull a Ron Swanson and chuck your computer into the bin.

All in all, I would rate this game a 5.5-6/10. It looked promising but ended up being quite the disappointment and I doubt I will ever give it another go. After about the 4-6 hours mark I was just trying to get the game over with as quickly as possible as it was just tedious, boring and repetitive as hell. There is a lot of boss fights, but every time a new boss is introduced, you can bet you wilk see them recycled, sometimes multiple of the same type. The price is WAY too high for what the game offers and if I was the publishers, I would lower the price permanently to about €20-30.

You know what's up. Canons go boom, blood-curdling screams of men, ♥♥♥♥ on fire and many glory holes.

One of the best horror games ever made.

The game hasn't changed much gameplay-wise, the new Cache is a sight for sore eyes but I think this game needs more attention and more maps.
Also, remove competitive cooldowns for Scrimmage please, makes no sense making it an unranked mod and allow for people to get banned.

For new players: Beware, unless you pay for Prime, you'll have the worst possible experience playing casual or competitive. There will be atleast 1 cheater in almost every match guaranteed. Valve pls fix.
