Constant stability issues get in the way of an incredibly fun game. Stutters, sound glitches, and crashes abound. Maybe, Arrowhead, you should take a break from pumping out another warbond, and focus on a stability patch.

Thank you, Capcom, for letting me take my mind off of the current global pandemic by letting me shoot another pandemic in the face with a gun.

Early Access Review
This game, is SICK.

That's really the only way to describe it. The controls are perfect, the level design is top notch, and even in an "early access" state, it is all held to an incredible level of polish. As of this review, I'm not even done with Eipsode 2 yet, but I can safely say this is definitely worth your money. If you ever wanted to play Quake again, but don't want to actually play Quake, this is truly how to do it.

This game made me contemplate converting to a Jehovah's Witness because Armageddon may very well be upon us.

And it is this game.

Absolute garbage of a game.

There is no options menu, there is barely any user interface, the graphics look horrendus, and there is no strategy. All you can control is the movement of ships. Nothing else. You control the lead ship in a column of other ships, and you try and maneuver your line of ships into an advantageous point.

That's it.

Ships fire independently of eachother. You cannot order them to focus fire on one specific ship. You cannot make your columns of ships break and move independently. There is no easy way to keep track of the entire battle.

Don't buy this. Full stop.

I really wanted to like this game. I think the Great War is a section of history that has been passed up quite a bit, and an RTS looked like the perfect way to do this.

This game doesn't do a very good job.

Not counting the fact that literally half of the game is DLC, Battle of Empires does not present a good portrayal of the Great War. It feels too clean, and nothing feels like it has any impact. Artillery is weak, compared to the absolutely devastating thing it actually was. Machine guns have trouble cutting down the swaths of soldiers that come at them. It doesn't feel like the First World War. And gameplay wise, it's pretty boring. It's pretty much exactly Men of War, just in WWI.

Also the voice acting is absolutely horrendous. You couldn't find anyone to give a half-decent impression of a Russian soldier?

I guess I'll have to wait for another WWI RTS to show up and see if it piques my interest without disappointing me like this one.

Suprisingly, not terrible. It's pretty much Crysis 1 reskinned and with some extra features and a little bit of monetization. The controls are pretty dece and responsive. The graphical options are pretty good (although the lack of an FOV slider annoys me), and it seems to be very well optomized.

Warface is split into three different game modes. PvP, PvE, and Special Operations. Now, I haven't spent that much time in PvP, but it's pretty run-of-the-mill as far as a mulitplayer FPS goes. There's TDM and Deathmatch, a mode called Storm (which is basically rush mode from battlefield on a much smaller scale), CTF, etc, etc.

PvE, is what I have been playing the most. For a PvE mode in a F2P game, you can actually progress completely independent of the PvP part. Which, for someone like me who hates PvP for the most part, is great. The missions are pretty fun, and varied enough that I haven't gotten bored of them, yet.

(DISCLAMER: I only have access to one Special Operation as of this review, which I believe is seasonal.) So far, Special Operations look like they are more advanced PvE missions. The one I have been able to play, is a pretty standard horde mode shooter. It's alright.

Getting items for your character is not as hard as I initally thought. In matches, you acquire experience points to put towards one of three categories. Weapons, clothing, and weapon attachments. Once you unlock one of these, they are permanent, but they do have item HP that decreases with every use. But they can be easily repaired with a few hundred in game credits, and I average about $4-500 every PvE match.

Overall, it isn't bad. It's pretty run of the mill and generic, but for what it is, and considering it isn't monetized out the ass like some OTHER GAMES *cough*combatarms*cough*. It's worth a shot
