For starters, I really want to like this game. I really do. It's got a cool and interesting concept. The fighting system is fun, I have a really good time learning the PVE, the dungeons are really cool and punishing and i thoroughly enjoyed exploring and looting and fighting people.

Problem is that if you bring literally anything over the trash gear you start with, you can get matched with someone who has the literal best gear in the game in normal solo lobbies. I thought it would be fun to try out the green longbow i found on my other character so i give it a shot and i die to someone with 300 gear score to my 40. apparently if you're over 25 you can be matched with anything, there's no brackets or anything, you're just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you run into someone who played the game more than you and brought a powerful kit.

this game is such a great concept but that design choice leaves such a terrible taste in my mouth i can't recommend anyone try this game until they fix that issue. it's a real kick in the teeth to find some stuff get excited and then enter the lobby and find out that you have no hope of ever defeating the guy who has 10,000 hours and a kit full of super rare items. must be nice to be the smurf killing all the grey gear guys.

change it and ill change my review.

UPDATE: It appears they have changed it! There is a gear score bracket from 25-125 apparently now :)

This is EXACTLY what I thought it was going to be. And I love it. It's so great someone finally did this with great quality.

Gaijin responded to the feedback with meaningful changes promised so changing my review to positive and reinstalling.

I think this is a fantastic game. It's a fantastic game though that is best enjoyed with friends. It's a fantastic game full of incredible depth, if you like League of Legends but wish there was more depth in how the characters abilities and items function, this might be a great game for you to try. Coming from other similar games a lot of people get a similar reaction of "Oh it's like X but everything is overpowered!". Because everything has some kind of counterplay there's a lot more freedom to make things really strong since there's always something that can be done about them, that's part of what makes this game great. Any hurdle can be overcome, you just have to be good enough.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. The translation is a little off in some places, but overall a wonderful game! If you like HP Lovecraft and Junji Ito, you'll really enjoy this! Took me until my 3rd try to clear a game on Cultist difficulty, but damn it's a great game. Play it with friends and collaborate together, really made it a lot more fun!

It's a classic. And it's got a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of mods that let you customize how you want to play.
