Possibly my favourite skill system I've seen in an ARPG.

The game is surprisingly good. I expected it to essentially be a big DLC for Borderlands 3...and in some ways, that's accurate. However, I think they've added more than enough to justify it existing as its own separate entity, and it feels distinct enough that I don't feel like I'm just replaying BL3. On top of that, it does a lot of things right that BL3 didn't...namely, the campaign being more enjoyable, with much better level design and side quests, and tons of optional areas. The $70 price tag might be a big steep given the amount of content, but if you can get it on sale, and if you liked the gameplay of Borderlands 3, I strongly recommend it.

Lots of content, fun combat and buildcraft. Very good boss design.

Big open world with tons of interesting places to discover naturally, and plenty of freedom. Haven't been this engaged by exploration in a game since Skyrim. Combat is also the most refined of all the Soulsborne games and offers a crazy amount of customization to find your ideal playstyle. Overall, easily the best Fromsoft game and a strong contender for one of the best open world titles of all time.

Excellent gunplay and loot, poor campaign. Season Pass 1 strongly recommended.

Still the best looter shooter of all time. Playing other games in the genre, including the sequel, makes me appreciate the world, characters, level design, and loot of this game that much more.
