Keeping this as vague and spoiler free as possible because this game is best experienced blind!

Tunic starts off as a seemingly simple and straightforward game, but as the game reveals its hand it gets increasingly complex with gameplay mechanics that are intentionally not directly communicated to the player. It's a game that wants you to experiment when you get a new item to figure out what it does, not just read a description. Generous respawns and low penalties for deaths encourage exploration and experimentation.

The game is already a great Zelda / Soulslike mashup, but once you think you're nearing the end of the game it completely flips the script and gives you what is essentially an optional, second game focused on puzzles in the overworld that are, much like the game's core mechanics, hidden in plain sight. This culminates in what might be one of the coolest puzzles I've ever seen in a video game, ever.

Have a pen and paper ready, you're gonna need it!

Backbone’s a good game, but it’s better if you know what you’re getting into before you play it.

The prologue is not a good indicator of what the actual gameplay is like. The detective gameplay quickly takes a backseat in favor of a story that starts off very strong, but doesn’t quite stick the landing. It gets increasingly linear, to the point of reading more like a noir visual novel, so be prepared for that switch. I was disappointed at first, but the artstyle and dialogue options in the game are excellent, and carried my interest through to the end. There is some seriously gripping imagery in this game.

It’s a short game, but a very memorable one and I’ll be replaying it again soon. Eager to see what else EggNut makes!

Fun blend of SUPERHOT's endless mode mixed with janky rougelite power-ups, definitely worth checking out!

Early Access Review
One of the most creative puzzle games I've ever played. Planning and executing heists is a blast, especially when it's a run that brings you right down to the wire. I wish there was more of an incentive to go for optional objectives besides increasing your experience level - some speedrun leaderboards would be great!

The only major gameplay limitation in the current state of the game are the demolition levels, as buildings do not collapse under their own weight even after the majority of the structure is broken - you have to break every support beam to get something to cave in. As a result, these levels often feel a bit tedious as you struggle to break down every brick.

(Note: This is a review of singleplayer only. Not sure if anyone is buying this game for the multiplayer. but they SHOULD! I want to play it!!)

Probably the best third person shooter I've ever played. Flawlessly blends smooth and responsive shooting with realistic heavy animations - this is the closest game there is to a John Wick simulator. Downsides are the game's story (it's okay at best) with too many unskippable cutscenes really negatively effecting replayability. Also, some gamemodes are bugged and will cause the game to crash like New York Minute Hardcore.
