Steel Assault is a wonderful arcade experience that's easy to pick up and play. I consider the game length to be a benefit - it's honestly the perfect length for just taking an afternoon to replay it, something not true for longer games. I'll probably end up spending more time with it overall than many longer games just because the barrier to replaying it is so low. Its time is also well within the standards of 90s arcade games.

The gameplay itself consists of adrenaline-pumping boss battles and gorgeous pixel art. On top of that, the movement mechanics make Steel Assault a really unique experience, even within the well-explored arcade genre. It turns vertical levels into acrobatic wonders of exciting gameplay. I love every second of it!
