I cannot stress how amazing this remake is. Comparable to RE1R levels of remake amazing. If you're sad you don't really get to have an easily accessible SH2 game on modern software, this is your chance. And coming from a big fan of the OG, this game was made with care.
I still think the 2 days sooner for $10 is a little stupid, but I would be kicking myself right now if I didn't, that's how good this is. Going to buy on ps5 too so I can relive what it's like to play sh2 on a tv in my living room.

Edit: Solid on PS5 too, although runs better on PC.

One of the best "Hey you wanna hang out and laugh" games you can play with your friends. It's so addicting.

Honestly I expected this game to not be so good because of disappointment in gaming for the past few years and Outlast 2 being kinda booty.

But this game is honestly really good. The $30 price is perfect for what it has and I'm excited to see future updates.
Super fun enemy chases. Remembering maps makes you feel good. The enemy designs are gorgeous and threatening, and if you enjoyed Outlast 1, this game is full of rooms just like it. Atmosphere is great, but the best thing is the online. Absolutely love the open world HUB and no issues with other players lagging or glitching. It's quite flawless online surprisingly.

My real only gripes is the reusing of certain enemies (Puppet Mom being Chapter 2 villain and also Chapter 3 villain) and the reusing of levels for Exam and X trials. If you wanna beat the game, you have to do chapter 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 like 4 times. Gets a little exhausting but I have hope in future DLC's and updates, they'll make exams and X trials their own unique thing.

And some of the upgrades just being overall worthless or waaaay too good. Hide and Heal being one of the bad ones. There's a medic upgrade to heal a bar if it has missing HP in it after a few seconds, and Hide and Heal heals a bar if it's missing HP after hiding for x seconds. They don't stack, so you'll only get the one bar refill and that's it, but the medic one is a permanent passive that is cheap and you can buy early. Hide and Heal is a more expensive one that you can only equip with 2 other things. I just think it was an oversight.
And slippers being one of the way too good ones. Why would you ever take it off. Like ever.

It's a fun solo game, but definitely get this for you and a friend if they're willing to play.

"Resident Silent is an FPS shooter with an emphasis on atmosphere and exploration." If by exploration you mean wandering an endless back alley with fog and a few cars for over 30 minutes, and by atmosphere you mean constantly getting ear blasted by zombies moaning, then yes this is the game for you.

Felt like a cryptominer.

A friend got me this game and I didn't look at the reviews, but I watched the trailer. I kinda expected a game where you run around the house finding presents while a crazy woman chases you. That kinda Slenderman type of game, find x amount of objects and the enemy gets harder. What I ended up getting tho was honestly one of my favorite horror games that wasn't like that at all.

There's actually a story. The enemy is creepy. It's not slow at all and doesn't drag in the slightest. The multiple choices you get when talking to your gf actually halted me because I was wondering what to say and what was the better answer.
For there also being a lot of bought assets, I was beyond surprised with how well yall used it for the environment. Yall did amazing with using already made stuff but giving it your own flair and touch. The lighting was spectacular as well.

A must play in December. Actually best horror game I played in December. You actually beat out callisto protocol lol

The game is about a 25 minute slow walking simulator with still 3D models flying at you with loud noises.
And this is for $16...

Dev Published this game under a different name so you wouldn't see Part 1 of this game with it's Mixed reviews.

Excited to give this a shot after the first game. Can say I was very disappointed. Many issues with the game that really halted enjoyment.

-Sensitivity bug, can't change it at all which isn't that bad of an issue since I can just change DPI.
-Says the game is running at 165fps constantly, but it feels very choppy. Also turning off VSync forces the game at 60fps and turning it on uncaps? That's...not at all how that's supposed to work.
-A few map design issues that were glaring stood out. Like a doorknob in the first hallway of the game hovering 5ft from the door. It would be whatever but like I said, it was there in the first 30s of the game.
-The combat is probably the worst thing I ever seen. You can't block. Dodge...nothing. You can only swing your wrench. Enemies are sponges requiring at least 7 hits to the head. Which means you need to sit there wacking them while they hit you. Depending on the difficulty, you can die up to 2 times before killing one enemy. Funny thing is, there's "Ink Well's" that revive you instantly if you die. No punishment at all. You respawn and any enemy with missing health stays there with said missing health while you respawn in with 50%. I just started wacking away knowing I'll die, die, then hop back in killing them off. Probably the blandest combat ever.
-Get ready to read 1-3 notes per room because even tho this game is gorgeous and artistic as hell, it can't tell a story through world building. Everything is just for show. And because of how boring the combat was, I started getting bored of the story and just skipped notes. Until ultimately, refunding because pure boredom.

The few things this game excels over the first one is,
-The graphics are very nice. Atmosphere and all. It's great.
-The main character design is God tier. Actually incredible looking.
-Voice acting is fantastic.
-Enemy variety is great. Way better than the first.

That's about it. Everything wrong with the game greatly outshines every positive thing sadly. Which like I said, I was looking forward to this. Felt like Bendy Chapter 1 was a passion project when the chapter was released for free on Itch years ago. Now it feels souless knowing the child audience it managed to capture will play and enjoy anything Bendy related. FNAF all over again.

Normally not a fan of "Granny" / "Nun Massacre" games where you run around a house with enemy stalking you picking up only 3 items and needing to use them multiple times, but this game does it real nicely.

3 items only, but all items are only used once. So you won't need to drop an item in a "safe room" and go back to it every time you need it. Use them and drop them wherever you want. Really like this, kept the flow the entire game.

The stalker is menacing. His footsteps are loud and monstrous and his slight chainsaw revving noise from another room is eerie as hell. Plus him talking and taunting you after hearing you walk around another room is perfect. I didn't think he heard me from too far but also I didn't think I could run directly behind him and he wouldn't notice either.

The hiding places are very cool. There's a bunch all over the house but at the same time, when I was getting chased or needed to find a spot fast, felt like I couldn't find any because I was in a panic. Entirely my fault but also great because that just shows how stressed you are lol

Atmosphere is Godlike. Felt exactly like I was in a Texas Chainsaw house. Loved how it's daytime horror too. The lighting and mood is beyond brilliant and when it's dark, you really feel like you need to use your limited battery nightvision. But only really in those areas. Which once again, really liked.
A lot of batteries and health stations, didn't feel too overwhelming or too easy. They were nicely placed.

All in all, fantastic game. Can't wait for the full release. Hope to even see DLC in the future with more maps!

Beginning was alright, actually quite fun and interesting. Then we get to the middle where the game feels artificially dragged with cutscenes that won't end and keep going for minutes longer than they should. Then we get to the end where we watch an eye sore of a TV cutscene that literally takes minutes to end and it's just of the MC staring into a void.
That goes into the worse of the game, the Silent Hill area where it's a big maze of infinitely respawning enemies where you can't shoot your gun properly at all.

The games "horror" is pretty nice. The really creepy and disturbing vibe it gives off. I like it more than games that just throw monsters and jumpscares at you, well this game has a jumpscare but it's whatever. But for every creepy moment, which there isn't a lot of, there's 10 really boring moments that make you just wanna skip the dialogue.

I really don't care if this game was $1, that was just really bad, also it doesn't go to an NFT supporter.

Honestly, I think this is better than RE1 original, but definitely the best inspired RE game to come out. Simple but unique story, disgustingly cool enemies, fun weapons, action to survival ratio is a perfect blend, backtracking, the puzzles were RE challenging and not SH challenging (thank God), a few optional stuff to do during main story, more end game content than REmake 3, great scares, and nailed the mansion.

My only complaint is the end game area. You're there and feel like you're 60% of the way done, next thing you know you're on the final boss of the game. The pacing just seemed off.
