Pretty solid adventure game. It's clear where inspiration was drawn from, but it's done in such a way that adds its own character on rather than being derivative. It's also very refreshing to see a cyberpunk setting that isn't constant gloom and grit.

My only complaint is that it's a bit linear. (Though looking up achievements, I think there are possibly multiple endings but they involve being a ♥♥♥♥ to characters you meet... no thanks.)

Decent for what it is I guess, and priced fairly to boot.
I didn't care for it too much when speaking from personal taste, but there's nothing actively bad about it.

A pretty solid offering that seems to "get" the old-school vibe it's going for while still having modern conventions to it that prevent it from reminding us of the woes of old-school game design. A very good plot which actually had me rather tense at several points, which I haven't experienced in quite some time - the soundtrack and setting are pretty great too.

As of the current build however the game is pretty damn buggy. As long as you save regularly you'll be alright, but it's still irritating - I can sort of give this a pass however due to it being a one-man dev team.

Did you like that one card game from Final Fantasy 8? Actually no lemme reword that. Did you like that one Final Fantasy card game on the PS1 with some emo crap attached to it? If so, this should suit you pretty good.

It's alright I guess, for what it is. It's kind of one of those cases that makes me wish there was an "Ehhhh" button in between the Yes and No when i'm asked whether I recommend the game or not. Get it on the cheap and you'll get a good few hours out of it but don't expect too much.

Do you like physics puzzles? Think of a really good physics puzzle. Now twist it around on itself like the world's most evil rubik's cube until it looks like Cthulhu took a tremendous crap all over an M.C. Escher painting - now you have Antichamber. Have fun with that.

Seriously. Throw your knowledge of euclidean physics right out the window for this one - it's not so much a game that makes you think outside the box as it is a game that makes you horrendously violate the box in ways that'd make Steven Hawkings scream. The only part I don't particularly like is the weird little advice snippets the game throws at you, which come off as kind of pretentious.

Not much replay value either, so go for it when it's on sale.

THIS is how you do a Sonic game. Not whatever the heck you've been doing the past two decades or so.
Actually scratch that, Sonic games aught to be called Lilac-likes from now on. This game is the very manifestation of the fun from those old games, bootstrapped up to the modern state of game design and polished to a neat sheen of rad as hell design.

To judge Freedom Planet on its own merits though, it is an absolute blast to play. Hidden stuff to find, time challenges to rise up to, all contained in a tremendously well done package with gorgeous visuals and audio. The only weak point for me would be the story stuff, but that's merely a matter of personal taste and you can more or less shut it all off anyway.

Simple and fun. Wander around a dungeon and beat up various monsters who try to screw you up in various ways. Chug colorful potions and regret it when you start puking rainbows. Blast mummies in the face with a tommygun while wearing a cat on your head. Encounter a gigantic evil skull and abandon all hope of survival forever.

It's great is what i'm saying. One of those games where failiure merely encourages you to try harder and try again.

Pretty rad little Metroid-style game. It has the aesthetic down perfectly, combined with a great soundtrack. The atmosphere is equal measures of sinister and chill - perfect for this kind of game.
To sum up, this game knows exactly what it wants to be and nails it perfectly.

Good, but extremely short. Get it when it's on sale, it's not $5 good.
