Very tedious gameplay consisting of constant back and forth with your limited oxygen. Tries way too hard with its non-stop wacky "humor".

In an era of cash grabs and soul-less remakes Streets of Rage 4 truly rises to the challenge goes beyond. The design, the gameplay, the soundtrack, all of it comes together to deliver a heartfelt homage to everything this franchise has strived to be. The only real thing that could be considered a flaw is that once you've cleared story mode there's not much left to do, but the DLC Survival mode adds a decent amount of replayability. If you're a fan of the beat 'em ups of the 90's, you owe it to yourself to give this a spin.

Early Access Review
An unpolished piece of development hell abandoned by its original creators and taken over by a single snarky dev who seems to spend more time trash talking reviewers than creating content. Don't let the copious amount of "updates" listed in the news section fool you, this game is definitely going nowhere.

A wonderful game rendered unplayable by Ubisoft's ridiculous DRM. Enjoyed my time years ago and now I can't play it even if I wanted to.

Islanders is a somewhat novel concept but it's definitely misleading to be marketed as a "city builder". It's a puzzle game where you place randomly generated pieces in order to improve your score. It's more akin to a tabletop board game than other colony management and city building games.

That being said the game as it is had me bored in under 10 minutes. If you're looking for something super simple to kill a few minutes playing, maybe this is the game for you.

This game was a swing and a miss for me. The self-proclaimed "steep learning curve" was more like a sheer cliff designed to beat one's head upon. The game has no tutorial or tech tree which means you be spending a lot time figuring out how NOT to win. The UI feels like an relic from a decades old game and is as hard to read and glean information from as you'd expect. I had to read a player made guide just to understand what my village needed and even then my villagers seemed to do as they please.

Final verdict is that there's a probably an interesting game somewhere in Rise To Ruins but I'll be spending my time with other city builders and tower defence games that don't require one to study a wiki and read guides just to start playing.
