One of the best zombie games out there

This used to be one of my favorite VR games to play. I would spend countless ours on TTT and have a great time. However, I can no longer recommend this game due to the most recent update, which, in my opinion, has killed all of the joy of it.

I haven't experienced this myself, but I have heard that a lot of people have had problems since the introduction of cross-play. Thankfully, I am not one of them, but the aesthetic of the game feels a lot more like it is advertising to Fortnite kids than the original playerbase. I don't know if it is the cross-play that has introduced this or not, but I feel like the game has lost its original joy. The people I interact with now are no longer the same to interact with, and that whole aspect of socialized combat from TTT has been watered down now that there are a bunch of kids that aren't as easy going are roaming around. The oversimplified artstyle of the TTT role icons and the redoing of the in-game menu has also felt too glossy and childish.

By far, the worst part is the lack of custom maps that seem to be hosted now. The servers used to be filled with nothing but games from custom maps, and now it is nothing but the vanilla maps, which I never felt were as fun. Gone are the days of playing on Minecraft_b5, Town, the space ships, and other cool and interesting maps. Now, it just feels stale and unimaginative.

TL;DR, game used to be good, now it feels like a hollow shell of itself. The identity and community are just not the same anymore. It deeply saddens me to see this legendary game die from an update.

This is a very good and faithful VR spin-off of Metro, and I am really excited to see where it goes in the future. The story, as of now is short, but the raid mode is what will get my play time up. There are bugs present, like some areas failing to load at times, but I believe that the game will grow bigger. It is very impressive for one developer to create all of this. I am very excited to see what comes out in the future.

It only cost $5 to get a part of my childhood back. Worth every penny
