Cute little Half-Life 2 mod. Not sure why people are so mad at this. The fact that there is no HUD is a very weird decision but seeing as how many people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it I thought that it would be something game breaking. Although I did run into one situation where it was kinda hard for me to tell where my shots were going I didn't mind it as much as other people. Sometimes it was kinda difficult to tell what you were supposed to do sometimes. I guess people dislike this so much since it's on Steam, so fair enough I guess. The mod is very short it took me 37 minutes to beat it on normal. Although the mod isn't anything special, I don't mind it, seeing as it was made by one Russian kid with the help of his friends. It's not that bad...

Didn't really like the first one but Entropy: Zero 2 an extreme improvement compared the first Entropy: Zero, even though some problems that were present in the first Entropy: Zero such as very vague or non-existent clues to lead the player forward are still present here, it still didn't pose too big of a problem. Even though I dislike when some fan-games/mods take too much liberty when it comes to altering or adding to the story, Entropy: Zero 2 takes inspiration from epistle 3 which makes it fit more into the Half-Life story. Aside from that the main character has a lot of funny and overall well written voice lines. It might not sound much for some, but it makes it feel very different from Half-Life where you're left with your own thoughts most of the time. I don't think that a steam review is enough to give you a clear look into the whole game so in conclusion: Entropy: Zero 2 is a Half-Life 2 mod/fan-game that rivals and in some areas exceeds what it was based on.

I really like the idea and I do think that it's impressive that they turned HL2 into a strategy game, however the execution is... not that good. The game is very old so some things are outdated, but there is one major problem that makes everything go down the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for me. It's the unit AI. I know that people in the hl2 universe are brainwashed but these mfers do not behave like people after being brainwashed they behave like people after a lobotomy. Having to build defences make sure that you protect buildings that generate resources for you and having to remind your entire heavily armed army how to walk and to not kill themselfes sucks all of the fun out of this game. They can not do anything properly on their own without you having to guide them every 5 seconds. I have to constantly patrol around the map and remind all of my snipers to shoot. They do not need to move closer to the enemy I told them to shoot and they do it instantly. Meaning that said enemy wasn't out of their range - meaning that my guys just ignore ♥♥♥♥ for no reason. Units will often struggle to walk around things, but the moment medics want to heal someone they perfectly navigate around every obstacle so that they could run in front of gunfire and die before even healing whoever they wanted to heal. I have no clue why they have to take that path, why they stood in front of the guy they wanted to heal instead of standing behind him. I think that this would work if the maps and overall battles were on a smaller scale allowing you to pay attention to each unit. The game has a lot of thought and care put into it but the sad reality is that this one thing is enough to completely ruin my gameplay experience. So I am giving this game a not recommended because it's just not fun to play in my opinion. This game is fun to think about, but actually playing it is a chore.

When it comes to the story, Grand Theft Auto 4 manages to do what games have been trying to do since the idea of games having story/storytelling elements exclusive to them. A movie-like story that grips the player and lets them interact with it, making it so that player's choices make a change to the story.

Wanna find out something about a certain character that is never mentioned in the story, but is something you would like to know? No problem, you can hangout with characters and listen to what they have to say to Niko. It makes the characters feel human.

When it comes to the gameplay the game does often put realism and immersion before gameplay and it does sometimes mildly annoy me. However it's never a big deal to me, it never made me very mad or anything...
The thing that annoyed me the most is the fact that you can't mod your car, you can only change it's color, but you can't even choose the color you want for your car. It doesn't waste too much money, but on the other hand it does waste a lot of time.

The atmosphere is great, but I should add that they went a little overboard when it comes to the visual filters. Sometimes it looks like there is no color at all.

The voice acting is great, not sure what else to say, it's just good. However Niko does sound more like an American man with a fake Russian accent speaking Serbian than a Serbian man, but it's a complicated language and the actor still did a very good job and manged to capture the raw emotions of the character.

I like Liberty City, however it's a terrible place for police chases in my opinion. I also like the more "realistic" approach they tried taking with the cars. It's not really realistic but it actually made me drive like a (somewhat) normal person. It also made driving a bit more engaging to me since cars actually feel like something that weights around ton, unlike GTA5's boring paper plate cars that all feel the same to me. As I mentioned, it's a bummer that you can't customize cars, since different cars feel different to drive.
Also driving does take some time getting used to and for some reason, breaking makes it so that you can only steer the wheels half way you can without breaking. Not sure why that's a thing... The driving in this game does make car chase sequences where you need to chase somebody more tedious than they should be.

I also really like the many small details they added to make the game's world more believable.

GTA V review

Pros

Good story
Three playable characters each with their own cool abilities
More cars
Car customization
Cool open world
Lamar

Cons

Boring shooting
The health bar is too small and it's too easy to just not notice when you're taking damage
They killed off Johnny (from The Lost and Damned) in a very crappy unnecessary way
The story is good, but a big letdown compared to GTA IV's story

A quick sum-up of GTA Online

I'm going to start with the negatives, so that I could end on a positive note (and also because everybody else writes "baka mitai" and leaves).

THE BAD PARTS

The Combat

The combat is fine, the only thing I don't like is the lock on system. During the later chapters you'll encounter a larger amount of enemies during random encounters, and not just that, a lot of them carry knifes or guns. Of course you're going to target the ones with weapons first since their attacks can stun you - leaving you open to more attacks. Now if you hold space it'll be easier for you to lock on to enemies...however there's a problem...you can't chose who you'll lock on to. If you have a lot of enemies around you it's hard to tell who you're even locking onto. Because of this a lot of fights go like this:
  • I hit the the right enemy
  • I get hit by a different enemy
  • I get stunlocked
  • I get knocked down onto the ground
  • I get up
  • Kiryu/Majima lock onto the wrong guy
  • Gets shot and stunned
or
  • I hit an enemy
  • Majima/Kiryu start locking onto the wrong guy because I'm not holding the spacebar
  • They try to hit like 3 different guys and manage to miss all of them
  • Gets stabbed or shot and stunned
  • I start holding the spacebar so that I could properly lock onto the enemy I want to take out
  • I have no idea which enemy I'm looking onto
  • I get tired of this and just brute force my way using Beast/Slugger (the boring way)

"You have to face you're opponent and then lock onto them" you might say, but at that point just attack them. It's most useful for bosses but again I don't use it since you also walk instead of running, making it hared for you to dodge incoming attacks. However it is useful when you're using rush in a 1v1 situation.

I'm sorry for making this comparison since video game journalists love to compare combat of every game to a specific game, but I think that the the lock should be like in some Zelda games: once you lock onto an enemy there is an arrow indicating what enemy you're locked onto if you press it again you'll lock onto a different enemy. I know it's a me thing, but after all this is MY review...

Another thing I don't like is the fact that unlike you enemies are immune to all attacks while they're dodging. I'm fine with it when it comes to normal enemies, they're already weak enough, but the same thing is applied to bosses, however it's not that big of a deal I just think that it's kinda unfair and it screwed up a lot of my combos during boss fights.

Also The Dragon of Dojima and The Mad Dog of Shimano are cool but they feel a bit shallow compared to other styles (not to say that they are not fun). I feel like there are diverse ways you can approach many different situations with each style due to the many moves and passive upgrades you can get with each style.

Other Stuff

The regular keyboard controls for the car chase are terrible. I think that this is the only time I struggled to try and control a game. And the car chase lasts for like 3 minuets, I couldn't play this for 3 minuets I had to stop and try to find my broken, barely functional bootleg PS3 controller. The worst thing is that it was easier for me to play this section with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unresponsive controller.

There is one training session where you need to perform a heat action multiple times, you need to perform a combo, after you have executed that combo the option for you to the the heat action will be available, but the guy you're fighting can just dodge and attack you from behind, not to mention that the area that you have to do this in is small, which may lead to you knocking the guy into the wall and he will bounce off that wall which is bad because if you recall earlier I mentioned that YOU have to knock him down with a specific combo, if you don't you can't do the heat action that you need to do.

To 100% the game and fight the secret boss(es) you have to achieve certain milestones and some of them involve gambling (aka random chance)

Some times during the disco minigame a light will just point at the camera and some times it's the same color as the indicator that tell you when you need to press a button, this is just a nitpick and doesn't happen often, but when it does it's frustrating because it ruins my combo and screws up my rhythm.

THE GOOD PARTS

The Story

Not sure what to say, it's badass, serious and intense. The voice acting and the animation gives every character an aura around them. However I like that the game despite it's serious tone still doesn't take itself too seriously. There are some goofy things in this game and most of the time they don't ruin the seriousness of the main story. There are also many sidequests (or substories as their called in the game) and I like that they can range from comedy to tragedy to a wholesome story. They also give the world of this game life.

The Combat

There are many different styles that you can use and they all have unique thing to offer. I also think that they are well balanced in a sense that I never valued one style over another, there was always a situation where a certain playstyle of a certain style made a section of a game easier compared to using a different style. Also once you've unlocked the Legend styles the abilities/moves that can be unlocked on other style get applied which is nice, since by the time you've unlocked the Legend styles you have already spent a lot of money on other styles.

The Music

It's just great, and as a cherry on top of a cake you can go and listen to it for free on Youtube. Sega really does what Nintendon't. Also you have Baka Mitai which is awesome. I have mentioned baka mitai you must now give me you're steam points

*points gun at you*
This is not optional

*points second gun at you*
Also like or press funny, this also isn't optional

The Minigames

They're also fun but I feel like some milestones are a bit too much considering the amount of minigames.

Other Stuff

I like that there are some substories that reference future events.
The world feels alive and there is some nice attention to detail.
The Mr. Shakedown is a cool edition in case you got bored of regular random encounters.

CONCLUSION

Just buy the game already it's even on sale for 4,99€ at the time of writing this review.

I think that TF2 is a fun game, but a bad one. It is filled with bugs - and the bugs that do get fixed are bugs from community made content and the people who fix them are community members. Right now this game is just a cash cow on life support. The "patches" that they introduce (that are made by Valve) are some of the most pointless ♥♥♥♥ considering the current amount of bugs that have an effect on gameplay, and don't make go into the whole bot ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (also not to mention the many poorly balanced weapons that could be re-balanced using some of that extra copy-paste code from a different weapon that works the same way that they have been using all these years). As long as people keep wasting money on this game that's held together by glue and paperclips Valve has no reason to make new content aside form hats. I mean for ♥♥♥♥'s sake they've got the TF2 community by the balls so hard to the point where even the little bit of effort they could've put into the game with the whole thing of making hats is out the window since all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hats that are probably holding up more memory space than the actual game are not even made by Valve. They just blindly chose some community made cosmetic or a map, they don't test or anything and they just kinda shove it into the game. They did fix some common glitches that effect the gameplay, however it took them around 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years to do it. I'm not telling you to hate this game, I'm telling you to not expect much of it. When they do try to fix an issue it's because the game is unplayable and it's always some half-assed attempt at solving the issue instead of actually fixing it. Just play on community servers. There are many different things I could get into here but

TLDR: it's fun but also very frustrating at times and very buggy

This is my first game I've played from the Tropico franchise and it's a pretty good first impression. It does include a lot of resource management and there are a lot of things you need to learn and juggle in order to keep going. If that doesn't sound like something that you like to do, then what are doing here, that's every city builder ever. Anyways, as I said this was a great first impression of the series for me. And, the game does hold up by today's standards, at least in my opinion. The voice acting is good and the humor is great light-hearted humor that anyone would like. And the soundtrack is great, perfect for playing during the summer if you couldn't go anywhere for a vacation, because of...well...you know... Currently, this is my favorite game from the city-builder genre.
