Thought I'd balance out some of the reviewer bias from some of the other reviews- my game worked fine, whether it was my setup of the fact that EA* patched the large range of bugs that others reported. The game is remastered as would be expected; improved graphics, audio and compatibility over the original. Can't say the game has been developed much further than that though as these new graphics, although much easier to play with (I can see die-hard burnout fans enjoying this remaster), it does highlight what the game lacked in the first place- a challenge. To be given a car, told exactly what to do with it and not be given any difficulty in moving the steering wheel slightly every now and then does remove the element of excitement somewhat. I don't think I spent much time doing anything except accelerating, which one might argue is fair enough in an arcade racer, but it still felt a little joyless.

*EA's origin is still not a pleasant application. I don't think many gamers will need the word 'optimised' dumbed down to say that it 'makes games better' in the loading screen.

TL-DR:
Didn't have any issues in running the game, despite EA's condescending Origin stepping stone. Easy to play, made easier by better graphics and sound. Didn't do much to change the tediousness that arcade racers had in the era. Would be enjoyed by many fans of the original, I suspect- but I wouldn't shell out to have a game to compete with any Forza or GTA.
