Guardians of the Galaxy is an excellent fun game with a shockingly well told story and great combat. Highly recommended.

I played No Man's Sky at release, and while I enjoyed the experience of exploring the procedurally generated universe and hopping from planet to planet to enjoy all of its weird sights, it was a game that grew stale. For me that was not for quite some time - I got 80 hours out of my original game, but I would not recommend it to everyone at all.

The state No Man's Sky is in today is so different that it may as well be a different game. Over 100 hours in, and I continue to find interesting and exciting planets, but the systems that now exist to support that experience are so built up and flourishing that every time I log on is filled with different self-made goals.

I've spent time exploring planets as in the core design of the game at release. I've run trade routes to make maximum profit. I've built bases on useful planets to service my trading and collection goals. I've earned a frigate and built it out into a space I enjoy calling home. I've taken charge of a failing settlement and put it on the path to flourishing. I've just recently had the pleasure of doing the games first expedition, and I cannot wait to do the second. And all of this is to say nothing of the obscene amount of time I've spent just hopping from system to system just to watch the ships come and go in the endless hunt for the perfect vehicle that captures my personality.

And yet 120 hours in to my present No Man's Sky experience, I feel like I've only barely scratched the surface.

Not only is No Man's Sky a success story, and now the industry's love child of just how passion, focus and excellence can turn around a failing game, it's also the game I can't see myself putting down for a long time to come.

A cool concept that just ends out being poorly executed and incredibly tedious. The route to the final parts of the game requires several stretches of the imagination and sitting through the exact same dialogue multiple times. The story has potential but is also deeply uncomfortable and should absolutely come with a content warning on the box as it deals with multiple incredibly sensitive subjects like
suicide, cheating, murder, and incest. Most of the games budget has gone into getting big name voice actors who do excellent performances in a game that would be otherwise immensely forgettable without their presence.

I was a big fan of Evil Genius 1, having played it numerous times but never managing to finish after running into the mid-game grind that the game was infamous for having. Now that I've finished Evil Genius 2, I can say with certainty that it's a great successor that I'll be playing plenty more of in future... that does introduce a few new issues which I hope the team remedies through their post-release support of the game, which has thus far been excellent.

The Good:
- The games mood and humour is excellent
- The base building mechanics are excellent fun and the core gameplay
- There is a LOT of content here, more than you'll experience in one playthrough

The Bad:
- The world map continues to be a bore and hasn't been improved on much since the original
- Portions of the game are still a bit of a grind
- Harder difficulties are really just an increase on the grind factor of the game (leading to my 110 hours on a single campaign completion)

I recommend Evil Genius 2 if you enjoy management games, but don't bother with the harder difficulties unless you REALLY enjoy management games.

I really wanted to like Later Alligator. It has a lot going for it. It's charming, funny, well written, and it's wonderfully animated. But the game design elements of it are just so INCREDIBLY poor that I was more frustrated than I was having fun. It would have benefit greatly from actually having a game designer involved.

If you can look past the frustrating and tropey minigames, there's a fun story here. But I simply cannot recommend it.

I am rarely so annoyed by a game that I feel the need to post a negative review, but Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PC is absolute garbage, and the awful port is hindered only further by some terrible game design choices.

Here's just a summary of the issues I have:
- The voice audio doesn't play and has never gotten fixed. You have to swap language packs before starting the game every time to make it work.
- There are no context menus while crafting. Better remember those button combinations because there's no menu for them to show what you can craft.
- The game locks you out of content constantly, but don't worry, that stuff doesn't matter unless you are a total completionist.
- There are whole DLC packs for costumes and weapons... that you will spend well over half the game time locked out of being allowed to use for narrative reasons.
- It LOVES its underwater sections, they are constant, and they suck.
- Furthermore, other underwater sections have """stealth""", where you have to hide from patrolling piranhas that will instantly kill you. But you have very little control over your positioning.
- Get ready to fall to your death all the time because Lara just sometimes decides she doesn't want to grab a wall or her grapple axe doesn't want to attach to a surface.

Save your money and play Tomb Raider or Rise of the Tomb Raider, both vastly better games than this.

The game is gorgeous, with an art style that I've never really seen before in that 3D-scan-of-a-place kind of feel. The story is mega promising, and I love just how much of the world they build up - but right when it feels like you are close to finally getting answers, the game just... ends. You make some choices that it plays up as being difficult and important, but you never see the outcome of the decisions you make before or after the credits roll. It's pretty disappointing.

But, in terms of the journey, the game is good if rough around the edges. I got stuck in a few places because the game was fairly obtuse in what it wanted me to do. So overall it's a mixed bag, but there's enough good here for me to say I can recommend it.

It's not very often I predicate a review entirely upon the ending of a game.

But good god, the ending of Far Cry 5 totally pulls down the entire experience and makes the entire game pointless.

The game can be INCREDIBLY fun while you are playing it. But there are a lot of issues, especially with regards to the co-op multiplayer. The game can be exceedingly buggy and removes you from the action a lot through its cutscenes and boss event mechanics. The lack of shared progression in co-op is awful (only the host gets to unlock guns - your partner does not). There's so many problems that could be easily solved with a patch.

Except the ending. The 'good' ending will forever be one of the absolute worst endings of any videogame I've ever played.

I really want to like Project Highrise. There's a lot of potential here. I was a huge fan of Sim Tower when I was a kid, and this felt like a way to revisit the concept. But the game is slow and tedious, and I've probably spent more time waiting to have enough money to do anything than I have actually doing anything in my admittedly little time in the game so far.

I've got no plans to return it. It's fun to pick up now and then. But I can't get into it as a fan of the game that inspired it, so it's hard to recommend to anyone that'd be at all on the fence.

I really enjoyed Tyranny, but I didn't enjoy this DLC. I was more frustrated than not. The game doesn't very well communicate that choices you make very early on matter, and define how the DLC story plays out. These choices literally are a matter of who you choose to speak to, when you are starting the DLC. It locks you into a path, and you won't know until you're some time in to the DLC that you are now on a story path you may not have wanted to be on.

Add on some bugs with teleporters not working and character dialogues funneling you down specific paths to specific outcomes unless you complete this 'one weird trick', and I found myself giving up and just accepting a bad ending to the DLC after searching the internet for assistance to try and fix my story issues. It's a disappointing missed opportunity.
