clear inspiration from cruelty squad whilst maintaining its own style. very gunky

this game is so insanely weird in the best way possible - ive never felt such an urge to go explore and understand what the hell is happening, what am i doing etc.

only cruelty squad scratched this itch before

special force LARP, not a swat 4 successor in any way shape or form

a pinnacle of its time and an example of why the half life series was so revolutionary

no guiding the player to what or where theyre meant to go (good luck!)
it turns out YOUR FISTS are your most powerful weapon (outside stakes for bosses)
youre pressured for time the entire game in order to win
stamina will handicap you constantly

however when you arent feeling the wrath of poor user guidance, its a ridiculously fun game. where else can you beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of demonic creatures with just your fists?

it just keeps going and going and going and going and going and going and going

spending a few hours doing fetch quests at a ridiculous pace for.... a shield, (half the quests are pointless to the story or progression) isn't really that fun. the second and third 'sagas' make up for it a little but i still wouldn't dare do this again, let alone pay more than a groschen for the privilege.

i get it, build up the world and side characters a little and show you the perspective of someone powerless, but a lot of the fat could've been trimmed and put elsewhere.

just don't think about what it could've been.

combat absolutely ruins what is otherwise an incredible game and the community is somehow delusional enough to say that spamming the same two attacks over and over for 20 minutes because your guy is as strong as a noodle is fun and realistic
