Don't let "Early Access" scare you, this is a solid game as it is, and it just gets better with every update. If you have any interest in city builders or transport sims you're going to love this game. There is also a very vibrant modding community supplying new buildings, vehicles, maps and loads of other stuff constantly. The developers really nailed that oppressive, bleak Soviet atmosphere with the graphical style and the music as well.

This game has some rough edges, looks a bit dated, and requires some level of masochism to play. That said, I love it to bits! Don't let the Samurai-punk theme scare you, this is NOT a JRPG. It plays roughly like a western squad-based CRPG but with a lot of strange twists. Your first playthrough is going to be an exercise in frustration and defeat (even if you've watched some let's-plays and think you know what you're doing) but as you figure things out this game is very rewarding and fun to play. Character-building, roleplaying, squad-building, progression, and overcomming impossible odds through tactics and sheer luck are recurring themes. Utter defeat is not necessarily game-ending, and will even develop your character further. Unless it's a Beak Thing. Seriously, f*** those things!

Yet another abandoned Early Access/Kickstarter project. Devs got attention from the big boys, updates slowed to a near halt, and now the project we paid for is no longer worth their time apparently. Don't be fooled; once that blue "Early Access Game" box disappears, you're still paying for an unfinished game.

Horribly optimized pile of bugs. While there is some half-decent gameplay buried beneath all the crap this is not worth it. Even if you do have the required 16GB (!!) of RAM it will stutter, freeze and crash constantly, to say nothing of the game-breaking bugs and missing content. This should be an early access release at best.

+ Beautifully crafted world, can spend hours just exploring
+ Very satisfying combat mechanics
+ Loads of content, skills, professions and things to do
+ Interesting classes
+ Regular content updates

- Worst. Community. Ever. Find a friendly guild fast, and turn off all other chat channels.
- A bit heavy on RNG, some things (market, enhancing) get very frustrating
- Cash-shop items are ridiculously expensive, but mostly cosmetic/convenience

As others have said, it's Banished but prettier. Unfortunately, that's where the improvements end. It's an unstable mess; expect constant crashes. The most infuriating thing for me is that saving the game is what tends to trigger the most crashes...

Space Engineers used to be my favorite game, but with each patch it only seems to get worse. It's become an unstable, bloated, buggy mess that I can't even start anymore. Too bad, it had a lot of promise.

Highly addictive, and pretty robust for an early access title. Can't wait for more parts to be added, either by the developers or via mods. It is a sandbox; so don't expect any gameplay as such (except for a very short tutorial level).
