At the time of this post, cybernetics were just released. At this time, I can not recommend this game unless you are interested in betatesting and like terrarria-starbound esque games. The reasons why are currently poor storyline navigation, occasional messy controls, rare irritating UI popups and lack of content.

I am certain game will be good with time. The infrastructure in which the game functions has solid design, gear progression has been comfortable but I forsee it being difficult alongside story progression for casual players. I liked the plot, the enemies, the exploration and loved hoarding literally every item in the game. This would be a nightmare if I couldn't have infinite inventory and several storage units IN my inventory, which was an awesome feature.

Right now I would judge the game to have 4-5 hours of gameplay in it. As a completionist I got 7 hours and quite enjoyed it.

I would describe this game as an exploration based zombie survival gathering game. At 7 hours of play time I can safely say this game is worthwhile if you like the genre described. The progression is secure with plenty of free roam while still being rewarding.

If you're a casual player, this game isn't very punishing as long as you don't die two times in a row, and even then it's only if you had good loot on your first corpse.

If you're a completionist, you can do some extra work to disable respawn and clear regions.

If you drop an item, it will be there when you get back which I am a big fan of. If you break a wall, that wall will remain broken. Resources are limited and will not respawn other than deer and zambies, as long as you don't halt zambie revival, lol.

There is farming but I feel it is lackluster, the first time you make a meal you gain a permanent stat bonus but afterwards HP which hasn't been necessary yet. Hopefully this will be relevant late game.

All in all, Dysmantle has been a pleasant experience.

No autosave. Saved several times early on, eventually spent quite some time doing domestic crap, several days passed. Forgot no autosave is a "feature" on this game and lost all progress. Game ending punishment and then getting mocked by "Are you sure you want to exit? Your data won't be saved!" when I click quit game...

There are plenty of excuses to not have autosave on this kind of game. Excuses are all they amount to and that's all I've seen on this issue that has persisted for years. I enjoyed the gameplay that I experienced but this game is getting a solid thumbs down for that bs. If you like in-immersive game micromanagement to be fatal to gameplay, this one is for you.

This ♥♥♥♥'s kicking up PTSD from N64 era power-out data lossage. >:c

While the game is free, the gameplay is nothing beyond what you would get from a snes or gameboy game, worse action mechanics than SNES legend of zelda, better than NES legend of zelda.

The primary progression content is composed of nothing but chores and the side progression content is what you would expect from MMO's stalling filler content except about 2x longer to accomplish with no reward.

The inventory system is designed to literally harass you, don't pick up literal trash items or you'll have to click three confirmations to discard a pile from your small inventory.

The controls are sloppy but if you want to put in effort, you can map the entire key map to your mouse with EXTERNAL software. The ingame key binding system is restricted and only good for moving keys around and nothing more, no combination (ctrl, shift, etc.) or mouse binding allowed. I don't doubt that it's more comfortable to play this on the mobile port.

I'm experienced with bug finding, debugging and beta testing but only encountered three non intrusive bugs and one highly exploitable bug during my gameplay that I will not disclose. I would normally expect more in the time that I played but there are either few due to solid design/coding or the simple nature of the game.

The quest system has no quest map markers or path finding which they provide a marker system for the world map to make this easier. Unfortunately to delete one map marker, you have to delete ALL of your map markers though which is a serious fatal flaw in the design.

The game's plot is in the first building and expect nothing more until you are over 1/3 the way to max level. What minuscule plot I encountered was not repulsive and left me with questions which is good, but the gap between plot progression makes it equally or less interesting/investing than helping a farmer find his pitchfork which is in line of sight... this was a real quest...

The worldbuilding was nice, I'd be pleased to explore the world if the progression wasn't worse than bad MMO stalling but I've deemed it not worth investing in just to do chores for NPCs with 15000 hp endgame.

The craft/skill system has a neat learning engine where you have to acquire a skill book, consume it to then "study it" over a period of time which no other books can be studied unless you pay for premium. I like this significantly more than the usual walking to a trainer, throwing your wallet at them and suddenly mastering 52 recipes. Unfortunately the skill leveling is as tedious/slow as world progression.

I liked that your inventory starts slow and expands, one slot at a time by clearing regional side quests. I disliked that it quickly filled with craft resources and dropped skill books that can't be NPC purchased with the only long term storage or "bank" being located at the max level zone. At one point I seriously had to discard one of my rotational weapons used to make room for a quest item.

Despite the story being about blacking out drunk and losing your precious drinking stein, being a mobile capable game I could see this as a good investment bind for children to sink brainless hours into for long periods of time.

The game had potential in very specific areas and was tanked in the rest. It is freemium so if you're the broke type, give it a shot to level 10 and decide to continue or not from there. Otherwise, at this time I can not recommend stein.world.

As of 1.8.4, I would expect 10 solid hours of enjoyable gameplay for the average gamer. I got about 15 hours of gameplay as a completionist/collection ♥♥♥♥♥ gamer and really enjoyed it. It has Legend of Zelda - A link to the Past mixed with Stardew Valley vibes. Making a home is a pleasant experience, travelling the world requires a damn machete but the paths you clear will persist. Combat needs some work to be more enjoyable but each mob has a bit of learning curve to fight. I forsee this game being capable of significant growth as long as the developers expand both progression content and accessory content without neglecting either.

The only slightly unpleasant thing I can confidently state is that reoccuring travel can be tedious. This would be quickly resolved with some form of quicktravel but honestly I would prefer a reliable paving system to make paths for very fast travel.

Good concept but poor execution. I loved the first 6 hours of gameplay breaking the learning curve but then the nonstop barrage of bad design wiped me out. Being wiped because turret CPU turned off while attacking a grunt is a game ender. Terrible ship controls, no reliable targeting system, ability to teleport to a station but not teleport back to the ship, etc. Normally I'd dredge through all of the bad design to reach lategame content but being rendered defenseless for literally no reason and being made to start from scratch over it? No different than client crashing or save files fragging in my eyes.

The best thing about this game is the graphics and environmental design. The rest of the game is content that loses to most N64 games. Based on the game's concept, I would expect something similar to RUST with good graphics and no inventory space when it's further developed but as it is now, unplayable. What you see in the trailer is LITERALLY everything you will do in the game. Walking sim, very few containers in an elaborate world, no items worth looting, nothing worth doing. Just another graphics first EAG with little to no playable content.

PS1 era playability issues make this game not worth playing unless you're desperate. I couldn't get into the story due to most of the game being pointless (dead end) walking and bad stair animation sequences that take forever just to be sent back down them because the door they lead to is never used. It irked me immediately but I tried to push through as a point click adventure. If this game didn't have 3d character models like many point click adventures, interactions would be smooth and it would be playable.

Unfortunately that is not the case.

Similar elements to rimworld but gruelingly slow progress. It takes forever at x3 speed, x9 speed might make it bearable. Give it a shot if it goes on sale.

While I wouldn't recommend this above most other farming sims, this game does have a significant ease to play only needing left mouse clicks. I could see this being launched on mobile and I would highly recommend it for children. I grew up on N64 harvest moon and overplayed it; I'd love this game as a kid. As an adult however, I can identify several infinite treadmills of labor. One thing I do have to respect though is the economy. Wealth is not easily achieved, even at late game which is very rare to see.
