Spelunky is a game all about making mistakes, and learning from your mistakes.
There are a lot of things which one-hit-kill you. In any other game, this would be Suck and ♥♥♥♥, but Spelunky is never unfair. Maybe the first time you encounter a trap it feels unfair (How did I know this rock with an eye would suddenly start moving and crush me?!), but once you learn how it works, you start thinking and learning and experimenting ways to work around it.
And it's beautiful.
Once you learn how the game works, it's possible to beat the whole thing, from start to finish, without getting hurt. It's all about applying what you've learned. It's beautiful. I want to give this game a smooch and a toasted peanut jelly sandwich
