Even though the game has its issues, I will go for the recommended option since it's a good effort made by few people.
Pros:
- A LOT of Lovecraft references
- Mindblowing art direction and monster design
- Nice atmosphere

Cons:
- Doesn't have a focus, I'm not sure how many stuff inside the game are even necessary and it's still short.
- Very small adventuring section at the beginning, the rest of the game is a combination of simple puzzles and combat.
- The UI (menus, etc.) is serviceable but needs improvements.

This game will scratch that Ace Attorney itch for people that have finished all the AA games. For the rest, it is a great detective story with funny characters and a bit of mystery.
My only gripe is that to get the "good" ending, you have to replay act 3 a bunch of times to do everything perfectly before tackling the trial at the end.

I very much enjoyed this remake. I'm actually playing in alongside the original and I can see all the updates and improvements the team made.

As a fan of the franchise, I enjoyed this game a lot. The pacing was great and I also liked the fact that its scope was not to have 2 (or more) mostly identical factions fighting like most RTS games. Each faction played to its strengths and the good guys were not always winning! In some cases defeat/retreat was the only outcome to finish the mission, just like the disastrous first battle of Klendathu (which is also the tutoprial mission!).

This game is great. The atmosphere and suspense is phenomenal. Yoy really need to replay it at least once because you will miss a ton of content.

Very fun game. I played the single player campaign on normal and it was great. The shooting is fun and smooth and there are enough diffferent weapons and enemies to keep you busy.

I totally recommend it, but here are some caveats:
- The game is primarily a shooter and should be treated as such. You have infinite time to set up your initial towers but during the wave, you will NOT have time to micromanage the towers, you'd rather shoot the enemies yourself.
- The music is very good, but there aren't many tracks in total.
- Healer tanks are annoying and make your towers useless, you have to go back and forth in the map to shoot them yourself all the time.

One of the best strategy games of its kind (which by the way actually invented the genre). Along with its expansion, War of the Chosen, it can offer lots of hours of "let me try this 45% shot, I got this".

Even though I recommend the game in general, I want to do some criticism.
First of all the good stuff:
- XCOM-like combat
- Enjoyable dialogue and world crafting
- Allows for a variety of approaches to each encounter

The problems are:
- Severe balancing issues in harder difficulties, Normal difficulty is recommended, even though it is a bit exploitable.
- Stealth is mandatory and silent weapons are completely necessary to advance. There is no way around this, however stealth combat is very boring... If you don't kill the enemy stealthily, they will call the rest and then you have to load the game or face the whole area of enemies... For me it was extremely tedious (I finished it on hard difficulty).
- The store where you shop for equipment is only useful for medkits and maybe grenades. All the other stuff are extremely outdated (you find better gear looking around) and limited.
- There is no way to farm for scrap (the currency), which means if you waste your medkits and scrap buying medkits, at some point you will not be able to progress the game if you are not careful. There is no other way to heal the characters.

Pros:
Funny jokes
Makes you feel clever for pulling off jobs without being too difficult
Terminal commands for everything (OK, this is not a pro for everyone :))

Cons:
Becomes repetitive after a while
Reading your mail to remember info back and forth while connected to another PC becomes tedious

While I enjoyed the game and put on 9 hours, I would not recommend it unless you really like the concept and don't mind the repetitiveness.

A nice puzzle game to pass the time. Each level can be played for a few minutes and has decent graphics and good music/sound effects.
