It breaks my heart since I love this game so so much but I have to give this a thumb down.
Do I love apex? Yes, I love this game so much. But I don't recommend this for newcomers. Why?
This is by far the hardest FPS game to master mechanically. Gunplays and movement mechanics are so much fun, and when you understand the game, it will be a blast, very fun, very high skilled, and absolute adrenaline rush. Sometimes you will feel like you are in movie cutscenes. One of the hardest but most fun games ever made.
But then came EA.
The more I love this game, the more I hate EA.
This game deserves much more, for its potential, but EA ruined everything.
First, we have cheaters running around ruining everyone's games and very few of them actually got banned.
Second, the audio bugs have been in this game for years, yet it never got fixed. A lot of us have complained but I doubt they will pay us any attention, since big streamers spoke out about this but nothing changes.
Third, the servers are lagging so frequently. Like it's daily occurrences, I'm not even exaggerating. It is so bad, it froze everyone in places, makes people unable to land and stuck in the air, skipping frames, ...
Next, its matchmaking system. Many of my new player friends quit because they got matched with 3stack preds/masters every matches while trying to learn the game. It's not just unforgiving for new players, it's legit unfair. Not to mention for people who learned movements, who actually put in time and efforts would likely lose against controller players who have such a ridiculous aim assistance.
Lastly, even though for years have we complained and wished for positive changes, EA never listened. Instead of fixing the problems with the games happening every seasons, they just keep releasing overpriced recolored cosmetics. It really pains me to see what happened to Apex. This game's downfall is one of the saddest things in history, and the worst part is EA can fix this but they never even tried, and it feels like they wanted to kill this game intentionally.

I played this game a few years ago but never really gave any comment on it. Lately I have noticed the mixed reviews by players. For those who are wondering if the game is worth it or not, I would say yes.
This game, like The Rose in the Twilight, is a visual treat for you. Art is great, soundtracks are beautiful, story is good and puzzles still pose a challenge without being too difficult and time-consuming.
However, if you play this game on pc without a controller like I did, you will have some difficulties because the gameplay of htol is quite clunky w' mouse and keyboard, which I believe to be the main reason why this game received many negative feedbacks.

Client problem. Tried everything, even reinstalling the game or reinstalling the EA client, it still won't show the friend list in the game. You can't interact with the client, can't invite friends, and it's very lagging... This has been happening for some years and somehow EA still hasn't got it fixed.

My gaming experience has peaked ever since I played Shadow of the Erdtree for the first time. The playthough has been such a blessing. Exploring new places: dungeons, castles,...; enjoying the atmospheric locations and scenary, finding new bosses and trying out new weapons,.... All of those moments have brought me such unforgettable memories.
I'll admit that the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC's has high difficulty, which makes it hard to access for newer Elden Ring/Souls player. Although older players enjoy facing great obstacles and overcoming the odds, some newer players are complaining and writing negative reviews that I think the DLC doesn't deserve to get. It has always been the Souls game nature that you strive for victory after having suffered defeat. Not to mention, Elden Ring is more generous than other Fromsoft's previous title: You can go around and explore and the game rewards you for doing so. You have many approaches and tools to help you advance through the game... DLC for instant, even has the new Scadutree fragments leveling system which helps you significantly...
It's really criminal that a game as great as Elden Ring now receive many unpleasant feedbacks from the community which it doesn't deserve. And worst of all, most complain about difficulty come from those who haven't finished the DLC because they didn't explore and using the game mechanics the game offers.
Praise the lord Miyazaki who really said he didn't intend to make the game for everybody. Thanks to this, for people who actually enjoying the game/franchise, the experience peaked.
The only thing stopping the DLC from receiving more love, in my opinion, is the performance issues we are having on PC. If that get fixed, we can enjoy even more of this masterclass of a video game!

I have always been fond of Japanese puzzle-platform or RPG maker games, and this gem of a game really made a remarkable touch on me. From the different atmospheric levels, beautiful story to the distinguished red-gray/black artstyle, unique gameplay mechanics to the cuteness of Rose... It felt like a journey overwhelmed with emotions and memories, which you were happy to be on, but regretted as soon as it come close to the end.
I really like this game. It worths every cents and seconds.
