How can I love a game I'm so bad at? It's just as addictive as gambling, but it teaches you math and strategy instead!

H2M was hit with a Cease & Desist. Now, there's no point to play this game ever. My heart goes out to the H2M devs.

This is the pinnacle of RPG games. You can do anything you want. In any fight, there are hundreds of ways (both lethal and non-lethal) to achieve your goals. You have more choices than you can possibly imagine, and each of those choices is exquisitely rendered with full voice acting to help you decide. I'd honestly have to give long and serious thought about how Larian could have made this game any better!

EDIT: Queues have been sorted (on my server at least), so I'm having a good time.

Bottom line up front: Wait to buy this game until the ridiculous queue issues have been sorted.

There are lots of things to love about this game. Flexibility in classes, weapons, and armor. Crafting depth. Exploration. PVP (if you want it). Fishing!

Sadly, you don't get to experience any of them because you'll spend all your time in a queue, watching a number slowly count downward until the game decides to display an error and push you to the back of the line.

Come on, Amazon. You're the biggest cloud provider IN THE WORLD. MMOs have been a thing for more than 20 years. Did you really not anticipate this being an issue?

This is one of the few games that I've played that has not only lived up to the hype, but has exceeded my expectations. It definitely has a Half-life vibe going, which is a good thing. The VR is definitely immersive (to the point I've managed to break a couple of things in my game room by getting a little too vigorous with my movements), and the gameplay and gunplay is great.

PROs:
- VR Movement. This is a hard one for games to get right, and BW has done an excellent job. Using a Rift controller, movement is accomplished by the left thumbstick, but forward is wherever you're looking. The right thumbstick allows you to crouch or stand on tip-toes. Neat.
- VR Grip. Different grips (two fingers, full fist, two fists) allow you varying degrees of fine motor control or stability. I like it.
- Price. This is an excellent bargain for the price.
- Immersion. I haven't gotten too far into the story, but there's clearly a sub-plot within the game (think Portal) that's eerie, disconcerting, and draws you in to find out more.

CONs:
- Control wonkiness. The controls, particularly for jumping and gripping, can be a bit wonky. I haven't quite figured out the ideal way to climb, throw things, or mantle myself up onto a ledge. I know it can be done, but only because I keep trying and manage to do it somehow without ever knowing quite how.
- Save. Having multiple save points would be nice, so that two people can play the game at different speeds, or you can go back to a previous point and fiddle with something.

All in all, it's excellent implementation of a lot of tricky concepts - story, VR immersion, controls. BW should be a benchmark of what an excellent physics-based adventure/FPS game should be like. Only needs some minor polish, but doubtless that will come with time.

I give it 85% - SOLID BUY.
