This game is a childhood dream come true for me. I spent like 2 hours just switching between lightsaber colors and killing the same 3 droids over and over again.

I dont care much for the character cal so I use a kylo ren mod and just pretend the story is about him lol

This game is basically Elden ring with slightly less (but still present) open world aspect but in the star wars universe with a good story. Definetely worth every penny.

Performance on a gtx 1070 and ryzen 2600x is perfectly fine. Gets stuttery sometimes (High settings, FSR Quality) but nothing that hinders gameplay at all

Note: Im playing in VR only

4 hours in and this is one of the best VR games I have ever played in my life.
Of course I had to install a mod as it does not come with VR support but it works perfectly fine!

I dont know if its the VR or the gameplay itself that makes this game so good. Havent tried pancake mode yet and never will because hoooly smokes this is scary, intense and absolutely beautiful in VR.

VR Gameplay: (also compared to regular subnautica)
I have tried both this and regular Subnautica in VR and found it really hard to deceide what I like more.
Ultimately I think I prefer this game as the graphics are more polished, and for some reason the sense of scale and depth is much more on point. This could be due to the fact that many areas of this game are very tight unlike Subnautica 1 where most areas seem to be vast and expansive. The lighting in this game makes you actually feel like you're deep underwater.

Story:
I cant comment much on the story as I am barely progressing with it. I mostly explore and craft awesome new gear. So far I dont care much for it.

Land Gameplay:
Great, I love it. I usually switch from controller to mouse and keyboard on land. Dont know why but I prefer it. As I play seated right infront of my Desk I can seamlessly switch instantly.

Conclusion:
I am absolutely hooked. Havent had this kind of feeling for a game in a long time (last time was maybe minecraft or fallout 4)
When using VR I think this game probably tops the original because of the better ambient lighting, more detailled enviroment etc.
Dont even get me started on how cool the weather is in this game in VR. Something that really makes regular Subnautica seem super dull.

Really good game. Its really scary, atmosphere is 10/10 and the gameplay is super fun. I never thought Id like a game where I only stand in 1 spot but its great. Boss at the end really jump scared the hell out of me when it came above me.
For being free 10/10 game

most immersive and realistic VR experience Ive had so far. but there are some issues.

Boneworks did alot better in the way the inventory works, physics work. In Boneworks you have an actual body with arms, you have to hold on to your weapon or you will drop it and there is real climbing and real gravity.

HL: Alyx has some weird stupid low gravity effect when you fall. ruins immersion. come on valve not everyone gets motion sick. Also in Alyx your hands just float in the air and you magically always hold a pistol in your hand that can disappear or appear out of nowhere. quite disappointing.

Besides all that, story, graphics and immersion 10/10
Im just really surprised by the lack of physical based actions and a realistic body/inventory. why is this all missing in a game developed by a company that were pioneers in video game physics...

I hope the source 2 engine will allow more games like this with the same fidelity/performance but more physics and realistic bodies, multiplayer etc.

The most immersive game I have EVER played. Graphics are incredible and this is an ultimate satisfaction for my scientific interests and urge to discover the Universe. Ive spent countless hours in "Space Engine" and always had the desire to not just see these bautiful things but also feel them, interact with them and be part of a huge world with other NPC's and human Commanders to interact with, discover my own systems, gather my own resources, fight my own battles and be part of an amazing mature community. Dont even get me started on the SOUNDS in this game!!!! Incredible, never heard anything like this before. Frame shift drive charging... Fly safe CMDR's o7
