Overall, the game has a ton of content and is easily worth the $30 whether or not you like the end game grind, presuming you didn't play a lot of the original (Dungeon Defenders 1) since a lot of the content is taken directly from it (as it was originally intended as a remake, but expanded to become much more than that). Despite the recent (valid) complaints stemming from a lack of communication, the devs are actually super awesome and will continue to support this game for the next few years if there previous work is anything to go off of. As for the data wipe when launching 1.0 and the price decrease, the devs absolutely should have communicated better with the community, however both of these truly had the best interests of the game at heart so I'm not so upset about it, unlike many others. I really don't see any scenario like this happening in the future since the issues were specific to Early Access and the devs have really been fantastic in the previous entries in the franchise.

As for the gameplay itself, I super love the bright, colorful scheme and artstyle the game brings to the table while also always having something else to do in the game (at least for the first few hundred hours it would seem, I'll update again later). Whether its grinding for better gear, collecting various pets, leveling new characters, completing all the maps on every difficulty, collecting achievements or preparing for the next update, the game has an absolute ton of content to sift through, though you are mostly replaying the same relatively small group of maps. This is my biggest complaint that I expect Chromatic will make progress on in the future since it can get a bit annoying to play the same few maps for literally hundreds of hours. Anything that incentivizes the play of all/most previous maps as well as adding new maps ocassionaly is going to be necessary in preserving the longevity of the game (and I do believe the devs will deliver on this front).
