10/10 would git gud again.

Spooky, re-playable and extremely fun with friends. This game has so much potential and I'm extremely excited to follow it in it's development and see where the devs take it.

i hate this game

Fans of the original Dark Souls will feel this game as a breath of fresh air after the experience of Dark Souls 2; pre-SOTFS. With many a call back to the original game, it improves and yet simplifies many elements from it's predecessors to create a game that is both familiar yet fresh.

Overall, the story is fantastic and leaves you wanting more. Obviously with the nature of Dark Souls lore, a lot is left untold however more casual players do not get left behind by what information is primarly fed to you in game. The boss designs both mechanically and visually are of excellent quality, and provide many tense and epic moments. As I prefer to play more melee based characters (thank you based Ba stard Sword), I can only really comment on that facet of combat; and I'm happy to say it feels smooth and responsive. You've got a large variety of weapons to choose from, from light and quick to heavy and slow and anywhere in between. The adaptive nature of the game keeps you coming back for more, with each death providing insight into how to configure your playstyle to win.

TL;DR: If you liked the original Dark Souls or are a fan of the series, you won't be disappointed with this game. If you are new to the series, I'd recommend playing the first game before playing this as it'll provide you a good understanding of how Souls games work. Overall, I'd give this game a 9/10. Would recommend playing.

Get. This. Game. You won't regret it. Well, maybe for the first 500 times you die, but after that, woah.
