The idea of making a metroidvania twin-stick motorcycle game is incredible, and it's executed extremely well by Brainwash Gang. Riding the bike around the map, shooting enemies in slow motion, and doing backflips to reload never got old for me. Finding creative ways to deal with packs of enemies was a blast. You have situations where you'd miss a bullet on the enemy and end up having to find an unconventional way to clutch that, which was some of the most fun I had in this game.

The story was incredible. I won't even attempt to summarize it here, but it made me cry several times. The art was also incredible, from the cut-scenes to the actual in-game art. Beautiful. Another one of my favorite parts of this game was the music. Every song fit so well for the game, and I was always excited to find another cassette.

There were only a couple of things I didn't like about the game, but it feels very nitpicky. During some parts of the later stages of the game, you encounter groups of enemies that are very irritating to bypass, but that issue goes away pretty quick. I also wish there were more cassettes with a wider variety of music. Don't get me wrong, I loved the music; I just wish there was more of it.

Overall, this game is a solid 9.5/10 for me. Laika: Aged Through Blood is one of my favorite indie games I've ever played and I highly recommend everyone reading this review go play it. <3
