Abilities felt bland, and I felt treated like a baby. I'm all for inclusion but the diversity casting and way things were worded on this one made me cringe, a lot. I played it for an hour and just couldn't summon up the will to give it a second shot, sorry guys. As a big fan of both XCOM 1 and 2, and Tactical Breach Wizards, I must still vote nay.

I have so far played 3 classes, and found all of them to be unique and playable solo and in group. There are truly different paths you can take, lots of customization options, and pretty good balance considering early access. The first three acts feel pretty cool, and they have amazing level art and interesting choices and monsters. It definitely needs more polishing & content, but it's already a full-fledged game you can go play and enjoy.

Not sure why, but enjoying this a lot!

I played XCOM before, so let me compare it to that a little bit:

The good:
- More variety in how you can build your units and your team
- Much less % based, more reliable combat outcomes but still not fully without randomness (ie, no more missing those 95% to hit shots)

The bad:
- Less variety in mission types, they tend to get a little bit boring after a while
- It takes a while for the overworld story to really take off
- Needing the right color of seeds for key research and not having missions for it available can be frustrating

Overall, I think it's a very well executed "XCOM in 40k setting" game, absolutely has pulled me in and definitely has to offer some things XCOM doesn't (even aside from the universe)!

The game seems quite fun so far!

Pros:

- game is fun
- mechanics are interesting
- simple interface
- fun for both casuals and strategists

♥♥♥♥:

- slightly overpriced imo (the 4-pack on humble fixes that if you have 3 friends)
- bugs, bugs, bugs; but the devs do seem to be working on it!

Other:
- Probably best played with 4!

This game is amazing, random, lovely, frustrating and the right kind of difficult. Brings a smile to my face every time I play it.

Short, but best game I've played in a long time.
