Hella fun game but maybe a bit too expensive.

Yes, that's right. I'm really Shealeigh. For those who played AoC for almost the 5 past years like I did, you probably know who I am. Modesty aside, I was one of the, if not the most, helpful member of this community. I spent most of my time on the starter area greeting newbies and getting them started with a little money for bag and supplies and basic and main tips on their classes, as well helping them quest on my more enthusiastic days. So basically, I know this game too well.

To save you the time I wasted on this game, I'll go straight to the point: Funcom is an unethical, unprofessional, con company. They thrive on norwegian taxpayers' bailouts, and they're ran by some of the worst scum on market, almost on EA level.
I've got double charged, and since I refused to pay 2x for the same thing, I ended up with my account locked and unable to make new purcashes or subscribe.
I didn't mind that, as a veteran I know how to sail through the f2p restrictions, but this week was the last straw: I got banned for defending black people. That's right. I got banned for being anti-racist.
I was discussing election results in my country with a friend, and commented on how the leftists were accusing all blacks who didnt support them of being "house n*ggers", and then I complained how the Left tries to monopolize blacks, women and everyone's else opinions, denying people their personal choices.
Aparently just typing the historical correct term containing the "N-word" is a ban-able offense, doesn't matter the context.

Upset, I started provoking making unkindly comments using the term "Nagger", which is someone who nags, that is, "annoy" people, without any racial/ethinical relation. And then, another ban. Their excuse now is that "I meant something else" because of the context, which suddenly became a valid reason.

Unprofessional, unethical, hipocrital and illiterate GMs that issue arbitrary bans against the community based on abusive reports from haters. So don't waste your time.
The game is abandoned, all they do is cash-grabbing shallow events to the adicted members of the community, and all the investments go toward the new games, which are also unpolished cash-grabs.

Thanks for listening to me. If you aren't an authoritarian histerical snowflake who likes to censor people even when they say nice things, you'll heed my warning and stay away from this toxic company and community.

Impression from 2 hours playing Beta:


This game is an attempt to make a heterossexual version of League of Nerds (or Legends, whatever) game.
Has the fancy (and optmized) graphics, the cool inovative combat system, some customization which I couldn't mess much with, but finding matches against players were impossible, so I only played allies vs bots. The bots were pretty good though.

For me it was fun, but not worth the money they ask. But if you're into MOBAs, I guess this is the coolest of them.

This is, I believe, a unique game on market: a realistic, thrilling WWII multiplayer shooter.

PROS:

- SMGs and MGs aren't widely availiable, which is realistic, and dancing with them (firing from the hip) isn't much effective, so no arcade-y shooting, aim if you want to kill. No gun blazing action here;
- A goal attack/defend system which incentives people to play smart instead of going around trigger happy;
- Very immersive with great soundtrack and people "hurrah" when charging, scream when dying;
- A territory/campaign multiplayer, not very influential but gives you a feeling of winning/losing the war and I love it.
- You level playing, then unlock stuff like bayonet to your rifle or bigger magazines to your MGs.
- Role based, if you pick squad leader you must provide support, if you're a commander you must call for artillary, etc. Very top.
- Banzai charge and flamethrower (Rising Storm only).

CONS:

- Some matches you die so much without seeing it coming that it can be frustrating;
- People become devil incarnate if you don't let them drive the tanks;
- Not much populated some hours, so if you don't want to play with bots you end in a server with worse lag;
- Bots are retarded (but can still kill you);
- Game crashes sometimes
- Teams are unbalanced because everyone is a nazi wannabe or hate commies even more than they hate nazis, so nazi team wins 95% of the time.

It doesn't have a nice story like Call of Duty: World at War, but it gives that feeling on multiplayer, except that unlike Call of Duty, you can shoot at ALL the socialist bastards - the nazis and the soviets.

10/10 for quenching my WWII thirst.
