I grew up on Stronghold. Firefly really ♥♥♥♥ the bed with this one. The lack of a building grid would, in theory, allow you to build more creatively, but instead is purely restrictive through arbitrary terrain and tiny gaps or rotations. The hovels being limited by the distance to the keep is absurd, and the time it takes for new peasants to show up is even more so. Every aspect of this game is aspiring to Stronghold 2 and the original, and every aspect is disappointing. Do yourself a favor, and don't stain the name of "Stronghold," pass this one by. The only positive thing I can say is I'm glad my father isn't alive to see this abhorrent sequel to his beloved franchise.
