For an expansion that is the second to last one for the current saga the story could have been wildly better. Less time spent on annoying training missions and forcing strand upon us with no reasoning behind its appreance and more on developing the Witness and even Calus who had a pretty lack luster boss fight for someone who has been hyped up since vanilla, not even showing any new darkness powers or such.

Cloudstriders are a cool concept in lore but the two we meet are cliche, old mentor who dies and young fun one who becomes more serious upon said death and Nimbus' writing and overall tones of the expansion seem a bit too lighthearted for what is essentially Sol's last attempt at stopping the Witness from winning (especially Zavala and Ikoras weirdly lighthearted speeches post campaign)

Bungie have obviously shown that they can do amazing stories, just look at witch queen and I'm praying that the ongoing seasonal stories make up for it, I have very high hopes season of the deep and I hope they do well.

Gameplay wise, this is, in my opinion, the best Destiny has ever felt, legendary campaign was fun to play through, proving to be a bigger challenge than witch queen and the loot felt rewarding. Strand also feels incredibly fun to play once you actually unlock it fully and all the QOL features are very welcome and enhances the whole experience.

Overall, this feels like another "set up expansion" similar to that of Shadowkeep where it feels like the only purpose of it was to setup a bigger and better expansion and I'm praying the story team deliver with the coming seasons and they've shown that they can create amazing stories. Eitherway, I feel like I've gotten my moneys worth.

Storys no where good as 2 but the gun play, movement and loot systems are 10/10
