أيا مَن يدّعي الفَـهْـمْ Oh you who claims to understand
إلى كمْ يا أخا الوَهْـمْ Oh brother, how long will you be deluded.
تُعبّي الـذّنْـبَ والـذمّ You tire yourself with sin and disgrace
وتُخْطي الخَطأ الجَـمّ You make mistake after mistake

أمَا بانَ لـكَ الـعـيْبْ Do not you feel ashamed?
أمَا أنْـذرَكَ الـشّـيبْ Has not your old age warned you?
وما في نُصحِـهِ ريْبْ ⠀For certainly there is no doubt about its advice
ولا سمْعُكَ قـدْ صـمّ ⠀But your hearing has not heard.
