Why do I do this to myself? I loved the first game and that one ripped my heart out. The prequel continues that trend. I miss the original voice actress for Chloe (the new VA still did an outstanding job), but if anything, the writing was actually superior here.

The highlights of these games for me are always the quiet moments of family, friendship, and new love (depending on your choices). Though I miss the time travel element of the original from a gameplay sense, the more grounded conflict of BtS serves the story better and plays to the strengths of the series.

Spoilery Thoughts:

My headcanon cuts off the final scene of the ending cinematic and treats the original LiS as fanfiction. Chloe and Rachel live happily ever after. Take that Dontnod.
