Definitely pay to win, but if you don't mind a little grind you can do basically everything without paying a dime. To a lot of people that means a lot, but not so much to me. What I find most appealing about this game is the classless system, you can make your character anything and at any point you can change your mind and pick up something else. You aren't limited to one type of weapon or skill set based on the race you play or the weapon and skill set you choose to start with. Over time they have improved the tutorials at the beginning of the game to make it easier for new players to get started and the community in this game always seems to have a friendly vibe. Overall, it's a great game and I would recommend it. If you're hesitant about it, it's free and trying it can't hurt. It runs on low spec systems fairly well and has a good look to it even though it's aging as an MMO. What you won't find here are cutting edge graphics and animations, but it makes up for it in gameplay. Not saying the animations or graphics are bad, they are very good considering the generation of MMOs this game comes from.
