I tried to give this game a fair wrap, I really did. But it's too unbalanced, too bare in terms of content and has far too many problems.

The main flaw is it has the Dead by Daylight problem of balancing survivor and killer, but it's ramped up to the extreme. If you're not playing this with a full on serious and competent survivor team that knows all the ins and out of the game, you're going to lose quick and hard. If you're playing this as a fiend and run into teams like that (which is all there will be after the free weekend is over), you're going to lose quick and hard.

Instead of rewarding hunting it rewards camping for the fiend. Instead of rewarding circumventing the fiend it rewards survivors for stocking up and unloading everything all at once. So instead of a frantic game of cat and mouse, you have a boring game of patrolling one area for the fiend or grab enough scrap to capture the objective for the survivors.

On top of these, there's the mind boggling decision to have one-hit environmental kills that make that fiends can easily throw you in to, closets that players can be revived from that the fiend can completely block you from getting out of, clunky movement and combat, and zero tutorial or guide telling you about each class or fiends.

Oh ya, and what made me review this game in the first place. That it's a buggy mess. When you finally feel like you're getting a handle on things only for your character to suddenly stop and not be able to do anything but crouch, it really kills the last bit of desire to see what the game could have to offer.

In the end, there could have been some potential here if this was an beta build or a very early access build, but it's not and there's too many issues with the game to be enjoyable. Not worth your money or time (even for free weekends).

See that time played? That was just from the launchers downloading the files and trying to access the website to create an account which appears to not even be available. Not worth your time.

Well, I was able to create an account but it won't allow me to log into the account because it says the username or password was incorrect, which neither were. Strike 2. No need for a third.

That 2x/4x speed up option is a godsend.

Interesting idea that's ultimately ruined by the knowledge of the game being a game.

Got this game free from Bundle Stars and it's easy to see why it was given away. Very boring, bland and button-mashy hack and slash game that looks and feels closer to an alpha build than a finished game. Even if you get it free, it's not worth your time.

An absolute joy to play. Tight controls. Excellent platforming. Challenging but never frustrating. Memorable and likable characters. Simple yet enjoyable story with quite a few laughs. Wonderfully detailed sprite animation. Outstanding soundtrack. Everything about this game just feels so good and spot on. One of the best Metroidvania's I've played and damn near close to perfect. You can tell WayFoward loved making this game, and they just made a new fan. I forsee myself replaying this gem many times over.

A simple, cute, inexpensive game made by a pretty cool guy. Also, you can make a wang ship. Indulge your immature inner-child.

One of the best games overall last console generation and one of the best strategy games to ever be made. Lovely to see Sega port this gem over to the PC.

Outstanding update of what was an already outstanding game. May be too casualized for hardcore fans of the original, but it sits just fine with me.
