The game introduces some great ideas, clearly inspired by Suikoden. However, its execution falls short.

The minigames are bland, and the cooking competition recipes often feel pointless due to inconsistent judging scores. The beigoma minigames are tedious, requiring tiresome searches for NPCs to duel, and are not enjoyable. While the racing game has potential, it needs improvements to make it faster and more engaging. The war battles are disappointing, feeling like prolonged cutscenes with poor pacing rather than engaging fights.

Party order often gets randomly rearranged after cutscenes, and the difficulty spikes from easy mobs to overly challenging boss fights are jarring. The auto-save feature is unreliable, inventory limitations are frustrating, and the interface for gearing characters is clunky. The warehouse sorting system needs enhancement; adding options to sort by item type and name would make finding items easier. The expansive open areas waste graphic data, highlighting inefficient design choices.

Overall, the gameplay mechanics offer a modernized JRPG experience with unique features. However, the story falls short, lacking excitement, thought-provoking political issues, and deep character backstories. Despite being marketed as a high-level successor of modern 2D-3D JRPGs, it does not meet expectations. Additionally, the translation of the English language script in the Eiyuden Chronicle is inconsistent.

Despite these issues, the game is enjoyable in many ways. It's a diamond in the rough; if that appeals to you, it’s worth a try.

This game was like a cosmic cultural buffet, and I was all in for the diverse flavors of our tiny universe. But then, it turned out my taste buds were pickier than I thought. Now, I've graduated from a cultural explorer to a connoisseur of intergalactic dislike. Who knew the universe had so many flavors of "ugh"?

WARNING: Highly addictive. Will surely destroy every ounce of happiness that you have. Consider your life forfeit.
