The game looks visually stunning as do all of the recent Tomb Raider games. Don't expect to be able to complete every level in one go as you need to find other gear to access and finish those hidden tombs. There are a few miner glitches in the graphics at times that I have noticed but that is understandable I suppose. The frustration for me is that my gamepad disconnects or plays up during some of the most crucial moments in the game and Lara will either not move, run off the world or the camera spins. Despite having calibrated my gamepad this happens randomly. I hope that helps someone.

Very in depth simulation. I think it is fair to say at this stage the game has it's fair share of bugs and stability issues. I would hope those issues with the servers, lagging and crashes for no reason get sorted soon. It is playable at least. I like the fact unlike Planet Coaster you have a report dialogue box pop up which is much handier than the length you have to go to in reporting issues directly. Certainly from my experience of games this suffers from the similar issues that Cities Skylines, Planet Coaster, Grand Theft Auto and Rollercoaster Tycoon World had on lunch. Fingers crossed these are address.

If you are thinking about buying it do so and prey that the improvements come thick and fast.

If it wasn't for the Universal Pictures connection this dino strat game wouldn't have the same appeal. I was sceptical as I have not felt the Frontier vibe from their last game planet coaster. With this however and after playing the first island I feel much more excitement towards it. Having the movie characters feature in the game makes you feel that you are not just playing a theme park builder but the movie. It makes Planet Coaster look like Rollercoaster Tycoon World.

At this stage the only downside is the walk through and tutorial element is somewhat lacking. It's a shame that there isn't more islands as well as I feel after you have played the few that are in the game there isn't the same challenge. I am only a few hours in so I am sure my views may change later. I am not sure it is worth the £50 as their isn't a multiplayer mode where parks can compete against each other.

To coin a phrase though from one city builder game "Bigger Maps... please."

I hope that there is more to come and I would love to see boat rides from the Universal Theme Parks and the car touring ride from the first movie..

If you have an everyday computer, home or office system or even a laptop forget it.

Planet Coaster was designed to go all out and push system specs. In say 10 years time we will have systems that can run this game. However at the moment many of us have adverage computers and not elite gaming systems.

"Firstly, most of the developers have spent much time developing previous theme park games under contracts from external publishers. These contracts set tight hardware limitations to maximize the market for the games. This made it necessary to make difficult compromises and the quality of the games was not as good as it could have been. The money the company earned from these contracts was invested into the Planet Coaster project, which was intended from the start to avoid all such compromises and go "all out" to mak.

Secondly, the game is intended to be around for a while and technology is going to progress further. What is cutting edge today will soon be the midrange. The graphics cards in the recommended specification are already being replaced by faster models by manufacturers.

Finally, as you point out, the competition has positioned itself to serve the segment of the market that uses lower spec computers. As a result, our position in the higher specification market works out fairly well. This way there is a game for everyone." - Ride Inspector Vega Planet Coaster Customer Support

Yes the graphics look amazing but not everyone can afford a gaming PC. The one thing I have always loved about RCT3 was that you could play it regardless of what end system you had.

To run Planet Coaster well, designers have pitched this at the high end market, knocking out 95% of people that own a computer.

Come on guys. Who says that gaming is an Elite club where membership is high? Planet Coaster do.

Early Access Review
Ok so it has some bugs. But what game doesn't in the early stages. It is enpowering to see so many people are actually getting behind this game and generating content already and barely days after it's realise. Whatever the politics regarding this game and it's development thus far, do you know what, I honestly don't care. Do you know why? It is because I have played it for more than 2 hours, unlike those that slate the game.

You would have to be blind if you thought the rival didn't have it's fair share of issues too. Infact uless you have a stupidly high spec computer then you will find that you won't be able to play that Alpha very well.

Both games are in their early stages so expect problems. Expect content not to be there yet. Expect there is still lots of work to be done and expect both games to grow with support. Some people like to use Macs others like to use PC's at the end of the day each to their own regarding who comes out on top. But it is early days for both hense the early release drr.

RCTW has its menus all ready and waiting for content to be uploaded. The bare bones of the game is ready. The graphics are there and if you are creative or know a thing or two about design then every file and every component can be updated at a flick of the switch once the main game is stable.

I get the impression from Atrai that there will be a lot more on it's way and they will be updating things as new things get added and the overlays for rendering are added. Something that is very difficult to do as I understand it if the main 3d forms aren't there and the coding is unsuccessful in the first place.

As for the peeps they are at present a representation of the final render at this stage and not the final look because.....the game isn't finished.

Once RCTW and it's rival sorts out it's crash issues and bugs then and omg then can you image the content that will come flooding our way.

If you are passionate about gaming or creativity then not only watch this space but be constructive with your critism and post it on the forum so that developers can improve and keep improving the look and the content of the game.

Oh and to those that have slated the game so where exactly is your theme park simulation game that you have been developing? Oh that's right you haven't been have you. So lets leave the game development to the experts. Atrai who have been making games for over 30 years and whose systems are the key component of every game you have probably played to date is based on from their invention back in the early 1970's.
