Trashy game, doesn't play like a doom game in almost any respect...
Whoever designed this game likely watched their friend (that probably wasn't very good at DOOM to begin with) play the game and then they designed a game around what they thought the game was like without any actual experience.
Who thought it was a good idea to have to melee almost every single kill?
Why make movement slower than molasses and add pointless movement abilities to slow down the time between encounters?
Why limit ammo to such a low capacity?
Why do you HAVE to melee enemies for them to drop ammo? do they hide it inside of their skull and chest cavity???
Why do all weapons feel like they do little to no damage, and are only a vehicle for you to be able to melee enemies to death.
Why is the level design literally linear hallways between doom 2016 arena encounters?
Why is it so hard for developers to just make an actual FAST PACED shooter instead of relying on gimmicks that have only degraded game design in the past years
Just rename the game to Mike Tysons punchout 4 because thats what this game, this not NOT a doom game no matter how much you think it is.
Go actually play the originals on ultra violence and lemme know if it feels even remotely similar to this melee platformer we got.
Clearly this is some hackjob they put together (same with "doom" 2016) then realized they own the DOOM intellectual property, so to get some sort of brand recognition for their awful new game they slapped the DOOM name on it and tried to pass it off like a revival of the series, when in reality this game is closer to something like Halo or any other generic sci-fi FPS

Doom Eternal offers players a lot of freedom on how to play within the limitations of your current arsenal, character level, and combat situation. Doom Eternal has extensively increased all the different ways you can choose to upgrade your character's abilities and weapon modifications to suit your playstyle. While progressing through the campaign, you will also be faced with different battle scenarios and environmental puzzles, all of which can be replayed in different ways to find what works for you.

In Doom Eternal the amount of enemies in the game has doubled. There are 27 different enemies in the game and in those enemy types, there are multiple versions of them. This means the player must prioritize enemies, identify their weak spots, target them with the optimal weapon, and always stay moving. The challenges many enemies put forth can be frustrating, but for players who can pay attention and adapt, designers hope these enemies will push players into a more varied and fun style of play.
