Actual original Megaman (1-3) player review:

Not the game awaited by those who grew up with Megaman (the original 8-bit/now dubbed 'legacy' series) as the game mechanics exploit the "dash" manuever from later Megamans and the MMX series (if you couldn't tell from any previews: where it might look cool since it moves the game as a speedrun to other players, but would instead, feel akward if you are the actual player) MN9 was supposed to actually exceed the expectations of the original MM series by fixing what was wrong with that series, instead, it does the opposite by bringing out the worse from both MM and MMX.

The thing you couldn't do to be the real Megaman was run into your enemies, you also had to avoid all obstacles, and basically not be touched at all. This gameplay is so counterintuitive to the laws of Megaman, that older players will be thrown under the bus and play worse than the younger gamers who are already used to button-mashing/QTE and new to both the Megaman series and Capcom. Not that that is a bad thing, But I find the gameplay too dependent on the enemy absorption, ala dash manuever (making the gameplay cheap) This was either intentional due to the time elapsed in the era of gaming since the last official MM game was released, or naively accidental, due to it being developed by a much smaller team as a Kickstarter campaign (or both)

Whether new to the series or not, chances are, you will suck, and will need a fast and powerful, high-performance PC to play a game full of cheap deaths (a staple of classic console-exclusive games) if you don't have that, I cannot recommend this game.
