This game is just wonderful for children that are interested in gaming and it is very suitable to be their first game. The atmosphere is very nice and the worst thing that can happen in the game is that you fall off and get re-spawned in the middle of the last island. Also in several cases there are more than one ways to get somewhere. There are currently 6 levels available with varying size and moreover there are small things to discover (planting flowers, coloring) that do not affect the gameplay, but demonstrate that there are things to discover beyond the path to the main goal. This is probably the best game of its kind currently available, way better than the other marketing shills aimed at children.

Nice game to spend some time playing. It is well balanced and it is easy to just spend an hour building your base, enjoying the awesome music. The devs are very active and very responsive, so if you experience bug they are very likely to fix it within days (or even hours).

This is one of my long-time favorite game and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a good, proper and hard strategy game.

The game is a hex-grid turn based strategy game. You (in most campaign and mission, not all) can recruit units and gather gold to recruit more units, but the main emphasis is on combat tactics. At first the combat may seem very random, but there are quite few things that can tip the odds completely in your favour - army composition, terrain, time of day, unit positioning, choosing correct attacks and correct order of attack.

You will inevitably loose units even if you are winning. Your units will sometimes miss their attack when you need them the most to hit. But that is the point of the game. Your plans will fail, but after some time you will get used to having a backup. Your units will die, but after some time you will get used to recruiting cannon-fodder. You may get decimated by the easiest AI, but after some time you will get used to using correct positioning and map control.

After that, the victories when you are just lucky enough will not even feel that good.

I agree that the game is short and sometimes the humour might be better, but still it's good. It's just like the games I used to play as a kid.
The game has no real story, but taking into account it's just some episode 1 I take it as a great start for a mysterious story.
