Beautiful world that is initially very exciting to explore. But once you've started to see what it has to offer, a lot of it gets repetetive and a bit of a drag. For fans of earlier From Software games, you'll probably enjoy this, for others it's a bit of a gamble, it's definitely not catered for everyone.

A great sequel, and a really good game.

You do not have to play the prequel to understand the story. But it will give you some initial understanding as to who is who.

You follow Mina Park this time around, picking up shortly after the events of the first game. A short introductory tutorial starts things off, to introduce our new protagonist and some of the basics, before dropping you right into "the coma", a dark and twisted version of our own world that you will get to know fairly well as you explore the different locations.

A lot of the lore is given to you in the form of notes, spread across the locations you explore, but you can still follow the story just fine through the dialogue and comicbook-like cutscenes you encounter.

With simple controls, and easy to learn gameplay. A great soundtrack to set the atmosphere together with beautifully drawn art that has lots of detail. And an interesting story and lore for those that are interested. I would absolutely recommend this game.
I don't think it has much replayability value outside of getting 100% achievements. But you'll get around 5-10 hours out of one playthrough depending on your playstyle.
