This game has slapped me up, broken my homes, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up royally, made me fuggin madder than mad, and it's utterly destroyed me.

It's amazing. 11/10, would metaphorically and literally cry again.

This combat is ♥♥♥♥. It's ridiculous, constant horde mode doesn't allow room for anything remotely strategic except for constant, never-ending evasion. The lock on mechanics are finicky and I rarely can even see what's locked on through all the constant barrage of attacks from everything. Plus, if an enemy dashes out of your view, and they all basically do, you lose the lock-on. Enemy AI is also more A than I in general.

The customization is the best thing here, but unfortunately you have to play the game to get there. Real talk, valiant effort and honestly would recommend if the enemies just moved slower, couldn't do anything that included a dash movement, and simply didn't have such egregious effects for every attack.

All that being said, Armored Core VI is coming out within the year now, and it's coming to Steam. I'mma try and refund this, save your money for AC:VI.

This game is far from complete, but as a player from way before it even made it to steam, I can say it's come a good way in its time. It's not the answer to Elite, Star Citizen, or the hype to No Man's Sky. It is however a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ classy ass indie game that got it's base for gameplay worked out before it tried to push story over content.

I can say that custom ships in this game look waaay better then the weird blocky aesthetic Space Engineers has going on. I mean, it's relative. If you build to Space Engineers... Engineering of it's building system you can pump out some bomb ass ships. But a Star Destoyer looks like a Star Destroyer in Avorion. And that's what Space Simulators come down to amirite?

That said, don't expect a walk in the park with building said Star Destroyer, I prefer it to SE, but that's because I spent more time in Avorion so, grain of salt with that one. It does take getting used to, but once you know the tricks you're gold.

Battles are pretty sick, although may need some optimizing maybe. Maybe. I'm not an expert on HW to SW ratios and what you need to get what you want, but when one faction comes marching in with its britches high and another calls back-up. ♥♥♥♥ Stutters. And I mean STUTTERS. I have an MSI GTX 1070, but a bad CPU so who knows, probably me honestly.

There's trading and you can kinda become a pirate and make friends with pirate factions so... already 1uping No Man's Sky! Minus the whole "land on planets" deal, but they were really diffedrent coats of paint with that ♥♥♥♥.

Anyways, TLDR:
I went into creative and built In Amber Clad with some high end metals and rammed poor suckers still jerking it in their mom's low-end shuttle from 1980. 9/10, not enough synthwave.

I just actually spent 5 days on a road trip to Zion National Park with friends, because we were inspired to do so by this very game.

I played a game

That actually influenced me

To spend 400$ in cash

For a road trip

12/10 would've spent 500$
