World & Story

Visions of Mana draws you into a beautifully crafted world with vibrant colors and stunning environments.
The characters are so endearing that you quickly find yourself attached to them.
The story itself is deeply engaging, challenging players to reflect on the fairness of the world’s customs and the moral choices the characters must navigate.
There’s an underlying sense that something is off, and this tension drives much of the story’s appeal. The game makes you question the ethics of the world and its inhabitants, pushing you to consider how you feel about the setting and whether the rules of this world are just or flawed.
Every chapter is packed with surprises, and kept me on edge and excited to see how the story would evolve and where it would ultimately lead.

Gameplay

In terms of gameplay, Visions of Mana plays wonderfully.
As someone who loves experimenting with different builds and strategies, I found the class system and the ability seed mechanic offered a ton of freedom to approach combat and character progression in my own way.
The game offers a somewhat open world experience, but the sidequests and exploration provide optional rewards (that mostly add value for those who want more options for their builds), meaning players focused on the story won’t feel like they’re missing out on key items or upgrades. It strikes the perfect balance between offering depth for hardcore players and accessibility for those just following the main plot.

For Seiken Densetsu Fans

As a longtime fan of the Seiken Densetsu series, Visions of Mana brought me back to the magical feeling of playing Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3 for the first time.
The music, the visuals and the atmosphere all perfectly captures the nostalgic charm of those classic games while still feeling fresh and modern.
If you, like me, hold a special place in your heart for the SNES-era Seiken Densetsu titles, this game will make you feel like a kid again, rediscovering the magic of those unforgettable adventures.

Final Thoughts
Whether you’re a Seiken Densetsu veteran or a JRPG fan looking for something new, Visions of Mana is a game I highly recommend. It’s easily the best entry in the series since the SNES days, and I hope it draws in a new generation of fans to this beloved franchise.
