This short free game has so much potential, so much care and attention to detail only a truly inspired indie project can have. Definitely needs to be turned into a full-fledged story, if you ask me!
Also, thanks for 'the making of' video. It took longer to watch than it did to actually finish the game, but it was still quite fun and educational.

This failed copycat of Darkside Detective is more of a visual novel than a point and click adventure. Indeed, the visual part of the game is minimal and almost all of it's actualy gameplay consists of reading, or more precisely of crawling through a bottomless pile of poorly delivered post-irony. The writer of this project must be a terrible graphomaniac, one of the worst.
The intriguing premise turns into a chore way too quickly, boring, tedious and surprisingly unrewarding chore of reading overly drawn-out dialogues and expositions that one gets mortaly tired of just by clicking through them. And it gets even worse when a chore turns into a pure torture of endless lame jokes followed by complete noncence the unlikable mentally challenged protagonist utters about everything around him.
The forced romance is another bad point for this whole ordeal.
The music is nice though, but some tracks are pretty crude and sometimes the noise distracts you from the game's main goal which is to bore you to death with reading. The game's font is an additional torment to one's eyes.
Also, the game is not without anoying bugs that make it even more difficult to enjoy.
At the end of it all you won't find a real ending, but only a pretentious cliffhanger. So, all in all, stay away from this project and waste your time on something more useful and satisfying.

First of all, this project is a poorly managed live service game, focused on playing in a team. Playing solo is an option, but playing alone is often getting too long. Not too hard - just too long.
Each level is basically a static theatrical scenery, additionally decorated with dozens of corpses and random body parts picturesquly scattered around. How could this seriously scare anyone nowadays is really beyond me. Solid visual design doesn't help much, unfortunately.
While the previous two franchise installments were focused on lonely exploration of dangerous environments and uncovering terrible secrets, the third one's main goal is torturing a human to death in the cruelest ways possible while hiding from ridiculously cartoony maniacs. A depressing freak show - this is what the psychopaths in this game are.
The insane villains are dumb and not scary, their sole purpuse is to annoyingly stalk the players and prevent them from finishing their not so noble objectives.
You're also to carry things around. A lot. And pretty slowly. So, basically, half time a murder, half time a loader. Where's the fun in these activities, I wonder.
Besides, if you happen to find some lore documents during the trial - consider yourself lucky as it's probably the only way to find out the reasonining behind everything happening in the game.
You won't find a decent, solid plot here, only a vague concept that potentially could be used as an excuse to add new boring villains to the same boring levels indefinitely. And probably adding new paid cosmetic items as well.
The sound design is nice, however it also highlights the fact that it's not a slow chilling horror anymore, but more like some kind of an action game.
Overall, if you have a good party of buddies you will probably have some fun. Still, it's not something outstanding or particularly remarkable in any way. Except the popular franchise's name in the title.
All in all, still waiting for the game to open up to it's full potential, if there's any. Because there must be something of the original's charm, something besides endless grinding and repetitive weekly missions.

If you have a chance to get the original game, you better go for it. The new version lacks a lot of the original's charm and its eerie atmosphere. The new version may have been more consistent and direct in its storytelling, but it was the vagueness what actually made this game so good back then.
The story's structure and pacing were better before the update too.
All and all, it's quite difficult to understand why the developers decided to fix what actually worked perfectly fine and thus didn't need any kind of updating. If they wanted to continue working on the same universe, they should have just made a sequel. A very welcomed sequel.

On the first glance this game is a sweet and cute family-friendly adventure that will make you feel warm and fuzzy. On the second one it's nothing more than a disappointment, too short and shallow to become emotionally attached to anything this project offers as its main features.
Thinking about all the wasted potential doesn't improve the poor impression as well. It's like a pretty but empty candy wrapper - opening it you wish to find something delicious, but there is nothing inside and probably never was to begin with.

And I thought nothing could scare me anymore. Absolutely blood-chilling experience I didn't expect to have. The developer definitely knows what he's doing, in terms of psychology too.

I hate giving this project a no, because the music is undeniably beautiful and visual effects are beautiful too. But it's not a game. It's not even an interactive experience. Not even a walking simulator. Actually, I don't know how to call a couple of basic maps with some rhythmically flashing lights placed here and there and void of any story and gameplay whatsoever. Looped generic music video for electronic tracks that one can see on youtube, maybe?
Anyways, sorry, I'm here for the games.

Considering the chain of highly controversial actions done by its creators, the worst thing is that at it's core it's a good game.
