This is the pirate game we have waited for as the spiritual sucessor to Sid Meyer's Pirates!. Great Sequel. Continues to be improved.

The space game you wish was out when you were a kid

Most fun I have had in Elite in 2 years. Runs perfectly (1TB NVMe and 3070 RTX). Combat Zones are especially fun. My favorite part so far is hacking through ground installations, either under fire or when they are disabled. 10/10 can't wait to see how it develops. I am hoping for prisoner rescue missions.

Game is finally finished and man what an epic plot. Faithful representation of the 5e system. I expect more awesome games from this studio. Modern day successor to Strategic Simulations. Nice work guys!

5e D&D - it claps

This game continues to improve. I keep coming back to this game for the visuals, best game in VR I have found, and sterioscopic sound is extremly immersive. If you want to write your own story, have patience, and so not need direction or a need to "win" a game to enjoy it, then this is the game for you.
You really do need to make your own fun alone or with people to enjoy this game. It is slow paced and requires a willingness to use google and educate yourself about the game, since it will not help you / tell you what you should be doing.
A 1 to 1 representation of the galaxy, with true encoded messages that you will have to decode yourself using real techniques, multiple alien species - some hostile, and a spacer pirate around every turn trying to take what is yours. Enjoy it or not this game is great and a massive technical, visual, and audio achievment even to this day.

Released with bugs. The ones that are game breaking they patched quickly. Fun game as long as it works.

I am writing this review because I enjoyed the game and would like to dispell some of the myths perpetrated by other reviews I read. I found the game challenging and rewarding. If you play on permadeath the game will certainly challenge / be overly punishing. I would recommend playing on non-hardcore the first play through.

RNG is a thing IF you are not prepared for the conflict. There are classes good against people and classes good against whales.

If you are prepared for the conflict the chances of losing are pretty slim.

The ability to be prepared for all conflicts is unlikely early game. You have to take risks and be mindful of the types of events you pursue.

If you are struggling with the final boss utalize 9 specialist crew members, and get yourself both of the epic spears.

3x Whaler Captains
3x Loggers / Reroll guys

Congrats you will beat moby ♥♥♥♥ with almost no chance of loss.

i.e. you have to bring a specialized team to kill a demon.
