My original review before Sony rake stepped:
This is what a live service game should be.

I had high hopes for this game when it first got anounced all those years ago, as this genre is something I really enjoy. But here we are 6 years later, and it's absolute trash. It runs like crap, it's clunky, the animations are horrible, and still so many bugs.

The world design itself is just empty and boring. I explored so many buildings that were just the same repetitive models. I could forgive that if they weren't also completely empty of items or anything to do (other than finding clothes, clothes and more clothes). I walked around in some open fields and forests which unfortunately were also empty and devoid of anything to do.

Managed to find a sledghammer, went up to a zombie to hit it because at that point I was so bored. Nothing seems to happen? Am I swinging this hammer? There's some sort of sledghammer animation playing but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to the zombie. Then I think the zombie starts punching me, again I dont know because all the animations really suck so bad. Eventually the screen goes black but theres still sound, am I dead? I think I'm dead? Screw it, hit escape and respawn to try again.

Ok round two: I find some barricade thing and pick it up. The character model completely screws up and my character's arms are all bent now - it looks like I've got two elbows in my left arm. I open the inventory and eventually figure out how to drop the stupid barricade. Close the inventory and now I can't move, the cursor appears to be stuck staring at the ground. Screw it, hit escape again but no respawn this time. Instead, exit game and uninstall this trash.

Lucky this is a free weekend because I feel extremely bad for anyone who's paid for this game. Especially the $43AUD they're asking for it. Judging by the "High Volume of Negative Reviews Detected 13 Dec - 15 Dec", I'm not the only one.
It's been in development for 6 years, considering it was built off an existing game engine, what have the developers been doing all that time?


tl;dr
Don't be fooled by the "1.0 Update/Release" label, this game is far from finished.
