Gae Bolg my love.

Jokes aside, this is the most fun I've had playing hard mode in an SMT game besides SMT IV. Also the additional contents compared to the original one are crazy good and really made it all worth it.

It was good fun, naming the characters after my friends and seeing them afraid of genitals.

Aside from the kind-of-bad PC port (stutters, micro-stutters, lack of graphical options) the game actually is a well deserved sequel for the first installment, offering even more engaging gameplay and interesting set pieces than before. The thing that impressed me the most is the story because in my opinion it is miles better, it isn't riddled with plot holes like in the first Evil Within. It actually concludes the whole Sebastian saga and STEM really well and I could say that I'm satisfied after beating the game. However, I cannot stress enough how clunky the controls are sometimes. The player movement and animation is very janky and off putting at times, I cannot describe it in detail but when you're playing it I guarantee you'll notice it.

Superbly underrated. If you love system shock, deus ex and the likes, you would feel right at home.

I didn't expect anything new from this game since the themes it consists have been told numerous times. But what sets it as a must play, is that the art style and especially the writing and narrative are just nothing short of phenomenal. It really was an amazing experience from start to finish. I can proudly say that this game can stand side by side with the likes of To the Moon, OMORI and other great storytelling games.

I still sob at the ending

Among the JRPG games that have been released in the 2010s to 2020s, this one stands out a lot because while it is a modern take on the dragon quest series; the old-school classic JRPG spirit still oozes on every aspect of the game, ironically making the game feel like a breath of fresh air amongst the modern JRPGs nowadays. From the use of Akira Toriyama's art style, to the late Koichi Sugiyama's symphonic melody, to the surprising twist and turns of the story that Yuji Horii wrote. I seriously cannot fathom how polished this game is that it's actually near perfect in my honest opinion. Easily one of the best experiences I've had playing a JRPG, and I've played a lot of them just to clarify.
