Very accessible entry in the Monster Hunter series, my introduction to the series as well. It has a satisfying game loop that revolves around repeating challenge boss battles, crafting gear, then taking on stronger bosses. Memorizing attack animations and learning how to use the environment to your advantage pays off well in this game. Cut scenes are unfortunately unskippable and although cooperative play is a big part of the game, progressing through story together comes with many solo interruptions. However, the action packed gameplay and satisfaction of pulling off feats with your friends make this game worth it.
