Trust me on this. Give this one a try.
"I'm not into Russian storytelling," you say?

*Chuckles knowingly.*

You will be. You... WILL be.

Far, far superior to the original.

Don't misunderstand me; the original was fine. In many ways, it was magnificent in its simplicity. Effective storytelling with very few lines. No graphics needed; your heart provided all the bloody, tear-jerking details.

THIS one, though... This game is an improvement on the original "Emily is Away" in every possible way, and that improvement was so very, very simple in retrospect:

Just add one more person.

If two people (and some mentioned-but-never-spoken-to significant others) can generate such drama, what could three do?

Completely rip out your heart and smack you in the face with it, that's what!

If you enjoyed the original (you glutton for punishment, you), then "Emily is Away Too" should be on your "Must Play" list. It's the "Empire Strikes Back" to the original game's "A New Hope".

Grr... Kinmoku, WHY YOU MAKE SUCH ADDICTING GAAAAAAAMES?!?

If you're into visual novels with multiple endings, charming animation, solid writing with a very intimate and involving story, and surprising depth of character, then you should definitely play this game. (Plus: the main character is pretty awesome.)

If you saw the "Sexual Content" and "Nudity" tags and are looking for something lewd or perverse, you'd best look elsewhere. This isn't THAT kind of game. (Also: please use both hands to reply to this review... after you've washed them, that is.)

A terrible control scheme and a so-so backstory mar what could otherwise be a decent top-down Medieval strategy game. Too bad, really; the game showed promise, too.

The story, like many good novels, takes a while to really dig into at first, and a few portions run a tad longer than you'd like or take too long to click through (less clicking through the story-within-a-story about the wolf seeking the Sun might help with that), the philosophy can get a bit overbearing at times, and the rating for nudity absolutely confuses me (there isn't any, so why was the story flagged for such?), but overall it's an exceptionally well done story with a superb soundtrack.

Especially the ending. That ending was well earned, and it didn't fail to satisfy (though I must admit to some confusion regarding the ultimate fate of the protagonist's relationship with Claire).
